I was Listening to the president of France this evening and I couldn't believe some of the things I was hearing. What a world of difference From the last one. So I guess my question would be, why the turn about? What was it in the last leader's party really turned off the people of france to elect a leader so very different from Chiroc? ( dont think I spelled his name right)

Listening to the news reports you would think that they hadn't elected him at all, that he had just stormed in and taken control. After he was elected there were riots and protests. What was so objectionable? He was pro-America.
Apparently the disenchanted minority reacted to the election as they would a hostile takeover, with reason and sense having no sway, after all, a majority of their countrymen voted for this guy.
Maybe the events of the last few years, terrorism, unrest in the Middle East and a general feeling that Russia is an unreliable ally, have had some influence and the French would now much rather be friends with the US than its critic.
