Should celebrities speak out on current events or should they shut up and act?  | |  I wouldn't deny a non famous person the chance to speak about a cause near and dear to them if they could find an audience, so I don't think celebrities should be denied it, just because it's easier for them to get heard. There's a right time and place for these things (the Oscars is the wrong place) but finding out famous person A is using their fame to promote a cause or a candidate doesn't bother me. I'd do the same if I could.

It just so happens that becuase of their position as celebrities, they have the influence so people will listen to them more then say the average joe on the street. I don't think they should shut up and act.
