Hi peanutjar, hope all is well!
As a kid my parents always got the real trees and I loved the fresh pine scent that filled the house from it. But with the needles, watering, etc it is just easier to have a fake one. Especially with a young child in the house!

My daughter was only 6 months last Christmas and she will only be 1 1/2 this Christmas and she LOVES to put things in her mouth so in that respect I am glad we have a fake tree! It will be interesting to see how Katie (our shihtzu) reacts to the tree as it is our first Christmas!

Im fine now, slowly getting over my plugged stuffy nose.lol.My daughter doesnt bother the tree, its more like the cats(1 weasle)missy. She thinks everything is a tree for climd.lol.I have to squeeze the hooks on the balls on the tree very hard so she cannot knock them off.Its always at night when she makes her bad kitty with the tree.:)

We have an artificial tree. I hate the needles, I hate watering it, and I hate having to cut down a tree every year just because it's in the spirit of the season. I just don't like the idea. Plus, an artificial tree is an better option for money saving purposes and what not.

I like to have a real on Christamas tree even if it is some much work with vacuuming the needles and also if you think how many christams tree are cut every year.that is sad.but I still like real one, for the smell.I just love the smell and artifical look just too fake to me.

We have an artificial one. I would like to have a real one,but I don't like the mess that they create and my husband says that I have ours up too long to have a real one.
It is hard to believe that Christmas is only a little over three months away.

I know!I was looking in the x-mas catalogue today for gifts that my daughter likes and she likes everything in there anyway.Santas sleigh is not that big!!lol.I would love to have a real one but im allergic to the needles on it.I break out in hives if i touch them.Oh and the smell is wonderful!!I have an artificial one,but its just not the same for me.Too much time consuming to have to bend those stupid little baranches to look just right and then after you still ebd up with a big hole.lol.:)

We always had real ones and, for a couple of years, we went to the artificial ones but the kids (who aren't really KIDS at 21 and 17) hated it and wanted a real one so we're back to having needles on the carpet for months and watching the cats climb up the tree. lol.
I think we need to get a very realistic looking artificial tree and go with that soon. Real ones are nice but messy!

Hi!I know, thats one main reason why i switched to an artificial one, besides being allergic to the branches.lol.But i do miss that smell. It reminds me when i was little and creeping down stairs to sneak if santa brought some gifts yet!lol. My boyfriend said "if you like the smell so much, just go buy a candle that smells like x-mas or x-mas tree smell.".He has point there.:):)

I have never had a real one before and if I can help it never will have one. I hate to think that a tree will die because of me (if it was put for a better use) I always have an artificial tree and we have trees in our garden that we decorate but dont cut. It might look good and smell great but I dont feel right having it cut for decorating my home for 3-4 weeks.

I love the smell of real ones, but I don't like the mess. We have an artificial one though mainly because we don't stay at our house for Christamas. The only reason we even set it up is because I love Christmas lights so much. We travel every Christmas.
