I was getting blood work done this morning and there was a woman (grandma) looking after her 2 grandsons. The oldest was about 1 1/2 years..He was sitting in his stroller and she handed him his bottle...he threw it on the floor..She picked it up, gave it back and the baby put it in his mouth...This went on for about 10 minutes...And every time he threw it, the nipple would hit the floor...This was driving me batty.....I was like you've got to be kidding me lady...The floor anywhere is dirty but the floor in the hospital is a feeding ground for germs...She looked at me and put the bottle up on the infant's stroller and that was that...I could not believe that she would give it back after it had been on the floor the first time.....Some people are just so stupid....I seriously doubt that she would put something off the floor into her mouth.....or would she?

I guess she didn't care how many sick people had coughed and sneezed on the floor. Not to mention, all the germs people bring in on their dirty shoes, and stuff. I guess, some people just don't care. Who knows, maybe she would have ate food off the floor. Yuck

Wow...that's scary. We've been hearing so many horror stories lately about germs and infections being caught while you are in the hospital. She's just asking for it! And anyway, the hospital is a high traffic area. Even with mopping every day, who knows what has been tracked in from outside and everywhere? Yuck.

Well she just might LOL that is silly and I can't believe she thought that it was ok. I get annoyed when my son drops something (and I haven't seen it) and then he looks at me and I'm like, what? and then i look around and notice that he was about to put his lollipop or chippy in his mouth and I'm like, no no son, that is dirty now! Even if he drops the lid to his drink, i take it to the bathroom to wash it off or if i have a wetwipe on hand, then i clean it down. I don't put things back in my mouth and I don't want my son to either.

I am really bad. I am like saying acky, all the time..No way would I let them put something in their mouth once it has been on the floor..She could have even used the inside of her shirt but the baby didn't want it anyway so what was the point of giving it to him...

What i dont understand is why she kept giving it to the baby when clearly he didnt want it, never lone how much germs must of been on it. I would think that she wouldnt put stuff in her mouth off the floor, but you never know what goes through some peoples minds.
Best wishes to you, feona

That was my thought exactly. He didn't want it in the first place and if he throws it 10 times then he surely doesn't want it...

i cant believe she did that, how gross, first of all the child didnt want it to begin with,so she should of never gave it to him,and second of all shes only asking for problems because the floors carry so many germs, god only knows what shes does at home,i wouldnt put it passed her that she picks stuff up from the floor and eats it,yuk.take care.pattie

The funny thing was that now that I think of it the mother of the little boy was the one who handed it to him..She was waiting for her other son to get done with some blood work and stopped by to check on the lady and her two kids...He didn't even ask for it and he was too old to have one in the first place...She had an infant in a carrier that was attached to a monitor of some sort..Poor thing...Still I am not sure why she gave it to him and then grama kept giving it back after the floor incident for the 10th time...Dumb, dumb, dumb....

If she is a proper grandmother, she should have known the baby did not want a bottle, he wanted a cup like everyone else. That would be a lot better than picking up the bottle from the floor and risking her grandson getting sick. The reason she does not care is because she is ignorant, and thinks that she is always right. Ten to one, if that baby gets ill, she will blame everyone else, the hospital, etc. for his sickness rather than her actions. Maybe she might listen to a doctor or a policeman.

That was exactly what I was thinking and why keep giving it to him if he is only going to throw it on the floor..
