"Rock band The White Stripes have called off their UK tour, just days after they shelved a string of US dates.
The band announced on Tuesday that drummer Meg White was suffering from acute anxiety, leaving her unable to travel between concert venues.
The duo, whose hits include Icky Thump, apologised to fans, saying: "We hate to let people down and are very sorry."
People on another board are mocking the idea of her having anxiety & claiming this isn't true, it's really because her and Jack have argued &/or the band are splitting up.
It sounds like a crap excuse but it can be a serious problem (and pretty nasty when your experiancing it) expecially if it's causing her to have panic attacks/stage fright.
IIRC this is what forced one of the members of XTC to permanently stop performing live.

| |  I hadn't heard about that yet. I understand one of the heart sisters struggled with that for years too a while back. Was very debilitating for her and almost ruined her carreer. Almost ruined her as a person too.

| |  It can definitely be a huge problem. I have anxiety and it has me back for years. I've started countless courses/studies, quit uni twice and fallen into depression because of it. It was only this year that I couldn't take it anymore and decided to get help. I have been seeing a psychologist for a few months now and it is slowly getting better. It's really rude for other people to assume that she's making it up or using it as an excuse because I guess a lot of people don't recognise it as being a huge issue.

| |  I think if they cancel the concert probably is because some problem, if is anxiety, i don´t know, i never hear about Meg have this before. But i have this problem and it´s very bad, i take meds everyday, and this help a lot. (;

I hadn't heard this was going on, but as an anxiety sufferer, I think everyone should back off and leave her alone.
It's silly to assume she's making it up, who are they to judge what another person is going through?
I hope she gets well soon. I love the Whitestripes!
