Theres a BIG BLACK SPIDER on my wall!!! |
|
It is on the other side of the room, that's why I saw it, but while I'll kill little bugs, I don't like to kill big ones!!! EWWWW!!!
I don't know what kind of spider it is, but it does have thick legs. It has a web up against the ceiling so I don't think its a tarantula.
It has now slipped out of sight, but now I'm going to be worring about it!!!

1. holtinator (212) | 3 years ago | I had the same problem a few days ago and im absolutly terriefied of spiders... i had a big one on my wall and it run off, just the same as yours... i thought it had gone, but i was still always looking over my shoulder for it, and it was above my door so i was too afraid to get out of there... so i called for my dad who got it for me, so the only advice i can give you is, do not panic and wait for it to return, then call for someone to help you...

ElicBxn (15084) | 3 years ago | Sadly, I'm probably the least afraid of spiders of anyone I know. My roomie might be willing to kill it, but she might also just send it flying around the room since her vision isn't very good! I may just have to live with the lady until she dies - maybe she'll eat the other bugs tho.

|
holtinator (212) | 3 years ago | I was under the impression you were afraid of it, well in such a case just call for your roomie to splat the thing!

|
| shootingstar67 (13) | 3 years ago | Put it in a jar and feed it raw hamburger meat. They suck out the blood. And name it "George". That is what really bored people do with spiders they find around the house.

2. TheSpy (3353) | 3 years ago | Hi Elic:
Ever since I wrote the Spiders Web, (for my friends), you are the second person to write about a spinder. I wonder if you can catch spinder fever, (instead of cabin fever).
Get some bug spray and spay it on the ceiling and around the windows.
Look for webs and spray there too.

ElicBxn (15084) | 3 years ago | I think spiders are interesting, and I could probably watch one for a long time, so long as we were safely apart from one another. Having this big lady in the house with me is a bit off putting, but I don't quite know how to get her out....

3. pyewacket (11565) | 3 years ago | Is there any way, that when you see it again, you could try to scoop it in a container, with a lid of course and just chuck it outdoors? I was reading the other responses you made here and see you're not afraid of spiders like I'm not either...I don't like the idea of killing spiders due to an old wives tale my great-grandmother told me, that it was bad luck to kill a spider--Just how big is big, with this spider anyway??

|
|
ElicBxn (15084) | 3 years ago | She's probably larger than a silver dollar, but probably not by much. She looked to me like she could jump, so I didn't go poking at her either! I'd probably be more willing to try & get her out if she wasn't over my head on the wall! LOL

4. slickcut (6004) | 3 years ago | I would have killed it, i hate spiders and i would be afraid it would get into my bed at night.I killed a huge spider today...I keep a can of spray (Raid) and when i see spiders i just spray them real good...They build webs around in my yard and i will run into one of their webs sometimes and i=do a little jig, happy feet and flying hands,if anyone were to see me they would probably think i was crazy..

|
ElicBxn (15084) | 3 years ago | If she were in the bedroom I'd probably be killing it, but she's pretty far from it & would have to get past my cats to get to it! LOL
Spiders in the yard, I've lately had the most humongus webs around, I've never seen such big webs - or spiders for that matter. They seem to be yellow, they look big enough to catch small low flying planes - I mean birds. I've done my very best to avoid them when I do have to go outside.! But one morning they were right across the eaves in front of the front door! I had to pull that one down because the roomie couldn't have seen it! 300+ lbs of panicing blind person isn't a pleasent sight let me tell you!
| |
|
|
slickcut (6004) | 3 years ago | No you don't want that 300 lb= roomie of your getting tangled up in a spider web..I can just imagine what that would be like LOL

5. CatsandDogs (5107) | 3 years ago | Your story got a good laugh out of me for I have a story to tell you! I was in a chat room years ago and talking to a few people and this one guy was a flirt but I talked to him anyway. Anyway, there was a spider on the wall and I told him about it and he said if he were that spider he'd get into my lap and I said I'd squish you. He said, "I'd wear a helmet." I laughed so hard that I cried! We were friends from then on for about 2 years and then lost touch. Just as well for I'm very happily married but it was nice having someone to talk to.

6. arr_781984 (1242) | 3 years ago | I disagree with a lot of people here. DO NOT kill it! I know you are afraid of it but don't! Why? Do you like flies, mosquitoes, stinkbugs, or any other type of insects? Probably not which is why you should let it live. I agree that you should call someone else to remove it if you can't do it yourself but get someone to come in and Get it on a surface which can be taken outside and released. My ex didn't like spiders either but he didn't want them killed. Just not in his house. I got the one that was in his sink that he accidentally almost drowned and took it outside. That's all you really need to do. I can't stand people who are so afraid of spiders and snakes and all that they just want them dead. These animals often are very beneficial to we humans and rid us of pests. Snakes of course would get rid of rats and mice and other such pests. I don't even think we should kill those, just move them, but sometimes they do become too high in population so having snakes, spiders, and other such animals can be very beneficial.

| shootingstar67 (13) | 3 years ago | Like I said, put it in a jar and name it "George". Oh, it is a girl? Name it "Michelle". If I don't put them in a jar I ignore them. Or I take them outside because I have no food in my apt. Actually I haven't seen a spider inside my place for ten years they spray it all the time, the management. But if I did see a spider I'd let it stay, due to the fact I am not a wuss.

|
|
ElicBxn (15084) | 3 years ago | I know they are benefical, & I wouldn't mind her outside, but I've so many allergies I don't want to take a chance of getting bit.
If I could get her where she wasn't over my head I'd try & catch her, until then, I'll just try & stay away from her.
But, like I said else where, if she gets in the rest of the house, I'm not responsible for what the cats do - big, interesting bugs/spiders don't last long.

7. alansmile (162) | 3 years ago | I do hate big spider. I was bitten by a spider when i was small(about 8 or 9 years old)and i was bitten at the neck(i remember two bait). It was very scary, because the spider is the size of my neck. I was lucky, because the spider is not very poisonous. If not,i won't be sitting here writing this response. Now... I'm just like spiderman, was bitten by a spider. Just that, my spider is not radioactive spider. Hahaha....

Wasn't radiation a wonderful thing back in the 1960's/70's!

8. loolets (1332) | 3 years ago | I'd get it in a cup and throw it outside. Who knows, if you kill that you might make other spiders mad and want to bite you in your sleep! MUHAHAHA! But seriously, they might kill mosquitoes and stuff for you. Just throw them out or you'll have guts and blood wherever you kill it.
| |
| |
|
|
ElicBxn (15084) | 3 years ago | I know they are good, and if I could see the spider at a level that I know it wouldn't "jump" at me, I'd catch it. But I don't want it jumping and landing on me, then we have a 200+ lb sighted person panicing!

10. bonbon664 (2304) | 3 years ago | You wouldn't have to worry about it if you just smushed it in the first play. Next time you see it, grab a shoe...and THWACK!!! Then, get a broom and dustpan, and flush it down the toilet....bye bye spider.

|
|
ElicBxn (15084) | 3 years ago | As Loolets says above, if I smush it I get "blood and guts" all over the place. Well, spider goo anyway - ewwwwwwww!
