I am going to need surgery on my foot!

I just got back from the podiatrist and he gave me the results of my MRI. There is a soft mass of tissue that is unidentifiable on the top part of my foot and between two tendons. They don't know what it is, and I have three choices. Leave it and hope it doesn't turn into something worse, try to aspirate it with a needle or surgery. The doctor said that trying to take a needle to it would be pretty pointless because it is a tissue mass, but he would try if that was my choice, doing nothing isn't the smartest thing to do and I chose surgery because I can't even put a shoe on because my foot is so swollen and the lump hurts! So, it is getting colder here in the Carolina's and I would love to be able to wear shoes before it gets much colder. I am not going to doom myself to flip flops, which I am currently sporting on a daily basis now. this has been going on over a month and a half now. I am so over it. I can't work, because I can't wear shoes except for flip flops or house shoes. I am supposed to stay off of my feet, so there goes weight loss. When I have the surgery I will be in a surgical boot for up to a month and will then become the queen of sponge bathing. OH YAY FOR ME! This deployment for my husband has become a nightmare. I have to deal with my blind, diabetic dog, a 13 year old hormonal teen, my health problems and all of this alone. Well, what can ya do! Just put the big girl panties on and deal with it! LOL

I really wish my husband were here hahaha! He is on deployment in Iraq right now. We just talked on the phone and he wants to try to come home on leave, but we both know that it is highly unlikely that they will let him. I told him it wasn't necessary, that I would get things done. So, much for the bright side hahaha! Anyhow, it was a nice thought. I know that like Grandpa Bob said, he too would be more than happy to help out. He's a good guy!

Hi there, what's been up to lately buddy? Well, your husband is doing great job and you should be proud of him and thank him. But it's not necessary actually, as he is your husband and there is nothing wrong with that if your husband will put your panty on. But if i were in your husband, i will not put your panty on, coz it would be easy. What? I don't mean anything, it's just that, ofcourse you have to pee and take on and off your panty and it would be take many works to do. So i will not put your panty on just give you a lab gown, till you recover, how's that? Have a nice day ahead and happy posting and earning here in mylot. Godspeed, Kiko

The put your big girl panties on and deal with it is a saying in United States. It just means be an adult and deal with your problems. I don't expect my husband to wear my panties hahahah! I am very proud of my husband and I will make due with what is going on with my surgery. Thanks for the comment!

Oh my gosh, you sure have a full cup of tea! I hope this turns out to be a non-cancerous thing and nothing to worry about. Recovery will be a "boot"--sorry couldn't resist that one but you sound like you are taking this all in good stride. Will be thinking of you. Just hang in there and take one day at a time. That's all you can do, and try not to worry too much! Hugs!

I went through something similair but never once did I wear the big girl panties. HAHAHA!! Good luck and I am hoping it's just some type of scar tissue or something not severe. Sponge baths. Ewwww. I do that for my dad and that's the worst part of being a caregiver I think. Anyhow good luck and are ya online looking for some new fancy shoes? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I am glad to hear that you didn't have to wear the big girl panties! hahaha! Oh let me tell you, I would be just happy to wear an old pair of raggedy tennis shoes at this point! Being in this situation, has really made me realize how lucky I am to have full use of my limbs. Just not being able to wear a shoe, something simple like that really makes you think and appreciate how good you have it. I know you know how that is. You are a caregiver so you see it every day. I can imagine the sponge bathing wouldn't particularly be my most favorite part of being a caregiver either. I am certainly going to be online looking for new shoes here s hortly hahaha!
