What are the best first baby walking shoes to buy for a 10 month old?   

It is easier for babies to learn to walk barefoot. So shoes are not necessary except if you are outside or in a public place. The best shoes have very soft, flexible soles. This helps her move her foot the way she would without shoes, and helps her to feel the ground beneath her feet. Be sure to get the correct size, try them on her in the store and let her wear them for a few minutes. Then when you take them off check her feet to make sure they didn't leave marks on her feet. If they did, they are too small. Make sure they are roomy but not too big because that will make it hard for her to walk.

It's best not to get any shoes. If you don't want her to walk barefoot, they have socks with a little bit of rubber on the bottom to help grip the floor. If you really want shoes, you want the really sofy soles. Basically, the closest you can find to feel like she isn't wearing shoes.

I was always told no shoes is best. If you are getting shoes though soft soles are best. Avoid high tops because they will give the baby's ankles more support and they may not really be ready to walk.
