i also make my own, and i'm a work at home mom who makes them so i use all the fancy fabrics of diapers today.

| syndibee (360) | 1 year ago | i am in central NC and love the climate. it gets cold here but never stays cold. i've seen some snow, but it's never stayed. it's a little hard to get used to here because the weather often is hot for a spell then suddenly it will get cold for a couple days then hot again..or the other way around.
i don't use plastic pants, there are so many updated options now. when people want to get back to basics they will use wool covers which are sooo adorable and waterproof too when treated correctly. then there is fleece which also takes the place of plastic pants and then there's fabric with laminate added to make them waterproof.

I still use plastic pants at all stages of the childs unpotty trained life as a great way to potty train.
I know they are always making new ways to diaper,and I do not disagree with the cloth ways,I just wish they would find a better way than disposables.

For my daughter (2 and half) we use Green Acre Design pockets stuffed with premium prefolds and prefolds and wool shorties/longies. For my 9 week old son, we mostly use prefolds and BSWW covers or prefolds and wool. We do have a few GAD pockets for him too.
FWIW though, I knit and that's how we are able to afford so many knitted pieces. Otherwise I would never be able to.

They were convenient, but I was constantly battling diaper rashes, infections, stinky diaper pails, and my own personal guilt. Then, about a month ago, I discovered gDiapers and fell in love with them. Right now I am in the process of using up a case of Seventh Generation disposables I had on hand, and my intention was to start stocking up on gDiapers and inserts, but now I am thinking I might go with AIO cloth diapers. For the last few days I have been searching the internet like a madwoman--reading reviews, comparing prices, and gathering as much information as I can. After much careful consideration, I think I have decided to go with Berry Plush AIOs. From what I can tell they are SUPER absorbant, even without the optional soaker, very soft, and absolutely adorable. Not to mention all the rave reviews they've gotten. Can anyone advise me? Are there any particular brands (or styles) that you're really wild about? I'm going to start stocking up but I'm open to trying a few different brands. I can't believe how addicting this is. I wish I had discovered these "new" types of cloth diapers a long time ago. I'm afraid my husband is going to think I've lost my mind when I tell him I'm switching to cloth diapers though. They seem very expnsive until you realize the amount of money you'll be saving over the course of a year.
