Making Hobbies as useful & interesting ones..  

i like reading and listening music ,good stuff from anywhere is good ,but u have more useful and creative hobbies i just wish i had something like that but i guess i'm lil lazy as i can do some handcrafts but i don't and prefer music and reading over it.lol subathra

Well subathra, whenever whenever i am free i just go outing or play some games. If its the case of my office and i am very much tensed, then i just browse for a while and make myself normal. I enjoy being like this and i hope that it will be the same for you too.

Donot you find the relief of stress and anxiety right here on mylot This could be become a full time job because we are aware there are many addicts and 5-6 hrs a day on this site is not that rare. My hobbies however ,to get back on topic,is playing activities like baseball,hockey ,curling ,bowling...call a sport and i am there I feel very little stress or uptight times so i guess I am on the road to recovery.

I have so many hobbies that made my sad days easier to live. It helped me go thru the days when my life seemed hopeless. When I was a kid, I collect stamps. Now I read books (any books fiction or non fictions); collect miniature boats, teapots, and shoes; gardening and collecting bonsai plants; crafts like scrapbooking, beading, cross stitching, quilting and sewing; and the best part shopping! Some of my works I sold to friends to support these hobbies. In a way, it also put food on the table.

when i get into stress , i will listen to music. classical music, or pop, or rock..then i will do some sports. especially yoga. After an hour and half, my body and sprit feel easy. So this is one of my hobbies. sometimes i will cook food to get rid of stress and pressure.Life should be rich and colorful.

you opinion is good,through reading we can find a lot of experiences that we don't have,because we don't have so much time to experience so many things,and experience is only a process,the mental process or a the process of reality,both compromise our experiences.and another way of like this is communicating,communicating may by not a hobby but a normal condition of life,but communicating about various topics is a good hobby in my opinion

More or less we have the same hobbies. Few years back I like writing poems and I have lots of them, just for my file and some still on file, some lost. And I read them once in a while. I also tried that stamp collecting, but I did not seriously go into it. I also read books of all types, much more when I was a librarian, but now only important things I read, no more pockets books. I read the headlines and discard news without relevance. I still like making frames of beautiful views and pictures and I like the end result. I just order frames and I do the framing of the pictures and views that I like. I hang it our, give to friends and family members on occassions. I also like travelling. I like to tour the whole of my country and there are only few places I have to go and some foreign travel, coz Ive been only to nearby asian country. I like exchanging ideas like what we are doing here in my lot.

Having two very active children can really be stressful not only physically but emotionally as well. To relieve me of stress, one great hobby that I always do is gardening. I just love tending to plants-flowering or ornamentals. Planting, seeing and looking at a variety of the colors of their flowers and leaves can ease the strain and pressure of the day. Gardening makes our yard look neat and clean too. My plants are a haven to some of the insects - harmful or not, like spiders, dragonflies, grasshoppers, snails, caterpillars and butterflies that my children love to watch, catch and sometimes dissect. This becomes a learning experience for them since it supplements their science lessons in school. When the weather does not permit me to tend to my plants, my alternative hobbies are reading, cross stitch and watching children's movies.

this is really a good topic,i have all the hobbies you mentioned above.lol,but that was years ago.once i collected stamps,but later,i gave up,because i dont have many letters to receive,and sometimes when i got a letter,the stamp on it had gone.
a little girl i know like painting,and she has a lot of tools for painting,she showed me her pictures.they are really very beautiful and full of creation,i saw her persistence in her eyes,and passion.her dream is to be an artist in drawing pictures,i think it is good to have dream,it makes our life meaningful.

Yes subathra. I think I agree with you on this. Hobbies makes us get rid of our worries, stress etc in order for us to be happy at a moment. They help us forget about our problems at that moment. Thanks
