Are you reading anything interesting?

I've read the entire magical series of Patricia Rice. I finished the Harry Potter series. I read the first two books Eragon and Eldist, I'm waiting for the third book to come out in paperback. What are you reading that's interesting? Why do you like it? I like magical books. I also like Romance with Magical kinds of things happening, but not Vampires. Most paranormal romance has Vampires in it. Vampires have been done to death (pun). I like a variety of abilities like the books I've read listed above. But I'm also interested in getting interested in other kinds of books.

For one of my courses I am reading a book called The Principles of Behavior which in detail covers all you need to know about Behavioral Analysis including reinforcement techniques, proper terminology, and how amazing behavioral psychology can be in shaping one's behavior.

Sounds like my Behavior Management college class I took back in the late 1980s. It is interesting, but I'm looking for books to take my mind off from things like that. Behavioral psych is interesting. TAke care and good luck on your courses.

I just finished reading the Exorcist, which was really good. I love the movie and for some reason I never got around to reading it before, it was a really good translation from book to film, I think. Next on the TBR pile is a Sidney Sheldon novel.. Master of the Game, I think. Haven't started it yet, though.

My taste in reading is really across the board. I love horror. But I also love mystery/thrillers, action/adventure, espionage, fantasy...

I think our tastes in books may be a lot different. Just the commercials for Exorcist and some books freak me out. Glad you like them, but that's more horror than fun magic books to me. But different strokes for different folks. I'm sure someone will read this that is more in line with your interests and find two great titles form them to read.

I did really read anything for the whole week but I dig out one of my literature books (given by a friend long time ago and still unread). It's called Of Human Bondage. I am not sure if it's any good yet but I will look deeper into it before giving up. Usually I like more historical stuff or total non-sense stuff *smiles*.

I have 5 walls in my house lined with 'to do' books... origami, papercrafts, cross stitch, knitting... anything I can make with my hands. And now I have a shelf for MY books... I'm making and binding them...its slow going while I'm learning, but I hope to fill it up!

I suppose I could read some craft books during the winter. I have a few that I haven't read lately. But on those really cold nights when you want to read something to help you fall asleep, not ger your mind even more active with planning, what do you read?

The Tony Hillerman series of books sounds interesting. Anything like the Legend of Billy Jack, etc.? Take care

I must be stuck in a craft rut, cuz after my neck surgery, I had trouble with getting through a novel... but on some of my shelves, I have most of the Tony Hillerman mysteries, with 2 Navajo tribal policemen solving crimes out in the middle of that big empty in Arizona and New Mexico; Stephen King; John Sanford scary stuff; the Ayn Rand collection, and Eric Van Lustbader, who has a large Asian influence in his novels. They all have an aspect of adventure with the mystery. I have several Jon and Faye Kellerman's novels... I also have a VERY large collection of Science Fiction... from Arthur C. Clarke's 2001 and Frank Herbert's 'Dune' to some extremely off-the-wall alien stuff! Then I have classics... Michener, Stone, Wallace, John Jakes' Bicentenial series. They've all been read by me at least once...

Have you read Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials set. It has three books: The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and THe Amber Spyglass. They are great books and I think you would like them. They have magic and mystery in them. They are a great follow up to reading Harry Potter.

No, I haven't read his books. They sound very interesting. Magic and Mystery are my speed. Do you think Border's Bookstore would have them?

I've never been there, but you can they are very popular now and there's even a movie coming out. If they don't you can order them from amazon or something.
