How Many of you agree with the principles on discipline portrayed on these shows? I feel like I could use one of them to move in with me lol.. but not sure I could live my life to their schedules.. How realistic do you think it would be to schedule every part of you day? just interested in what other think on this subject parenting can be a very complex job... thanks for your input

I don't know when Nanny 911 is on anymore. We don't see it in our TV schedule, but we do try and watch Supernanny (we being me and the kids). My kids are amazed at how out of control the kids are on that show. It is quite apparent that the parents are doing something wrong, or in some cases doing nothing at all. In the end everything works out so you have to believe that what they are teaching is right because it works. It's not always a matter of strict schedules, it is a matter of spending play time with the kids. In a lot of cases the kids are bored and act out because their parents aren't spending quality time with them. My kids are 11 and 14 and they love spending time with us (yes, even my 14 year old!). We play with them, we go to their sports activities and watch them play. We cry when they win (and cry when one gets hurt in a punching match at Taekwondo - hard not to go and embrace your child but that's part of building strength and character). How many teenagers do you know who think their Mom is cool. Yes, my daughter thinks I'm cool and funny, that doesn't mean she doesn't get mad and yell "I hate you!" every once in awhile because I say 'no'. But she knows to ask for an explanation as to why not. She's a smart kid and has probably watched too much Supernanny or Dr. Phil. LOL! I know Supernanny is with the family for a week or so but you can only cram so much into an hour so we don't see EVERYTHING she teaches, nor do we really see how long it takes for things to take. Perseverence is the key. I think these shows are a Godsend.

I love supernanny and nanny 911. I would love to have them come to my house also. I think that they are very realistic. It takes schedules for kids to become disciplined. Many times I watch and think~ come to my house!! I also love the way that they get both parents involved with the children.
