When I was younger it wasn't so bad but now in my thirties and 3 kids later I suffer so bad from cramps. Not only are my cramps extremely painful - my period is also very heavy. I try advil or motrin. My doctor even gave me anaprox but it's only temporary relief. Not only do I get cramps but I usually get pain in my side too that only percocet will help. I thought cramps got better after having kids - mine are so much worse.

I had them really bad my first 2 years with the "curse". I would say try some red raspberry leaf caplets from the health food store that helped me a lot. Thankfully mind didn't change after having kids so mine is for the most part a breeze except the occasional heavy cycle.

I am going through everything everyone here is only I had my tubes cut and tied after my 3rd child and the cramps and flow have gotten so bad I can't do nothing but sit. And even when I sit I can still feel myself gushing.I have tried all the over counter medicines and nothing helps. I have no insurance so I can't just go talk to my doctor so I am going to have to go talk to someone at the health department or planned parenthood like another board I am on recommended me to do. I was told since getting fixed I could go through menopause early and everything I have read online is saying I am at the beginning stages of it.

I have my period too right now and am up and down with my moods I keep arguing with my husband and have even fallen out with my mum I get such bad moods. I am usually alright throughout the month, but before, during and after my periods I have the most horrendous pms. I really believe it is due to my periods. My husband always knows when my period is due because he feels like he is stepping on egg shells one minute all will be fine the next 3rd world war is carrying on and he cannot say anything right. The pain I suffer is also extremely painful I have about 3 days where the pain is terrible even the strongest pain killers do not touch it. The only thing I fine that helps is a hot water bottle. Some days I have to stay in bed it is so bad.

I have been blessed with few cramps that I might get maybe a couple times a year. When I was on birth control they were a little worse and a little more often and I would bleed heavier. So, not to be too bold but, are you on birth control now that you have had your kids? If so, you might consider getting off of it. And, don't bother asking your doc if it could be the reason you are so sick during your periods. They get kickbacks from prescribing bcps and other scripts so, they don't want you to come off them. The most they will do is prescribe a new brand or blend. Is it also possible you have endometriosis? Or a cyst or something?

My cramps got a lot worse after I had my son, too. My cramps now make me really sick. I will puke several times every time I'm on my period. I take Advil sometimes, but not too often. I hate taking medication if the pain is something I can live with. My cycles are all messed up now, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but my last one was really heavy and painful. I thought I was going to die!

I am 29 years old and never really got cramps too bad when I was a teenager either. Now 5 kids later I get some of the worst cramps. I found that a heating pad works wonders. I was told that also that they get better after child birth... NOT TRUE!!!
