When did mugs downsize?  |

|  I have been using my dad's old dishes for the last 15 years and they were 7 years old when I got them. So they are about 22 years old. I started to think I needed to get a new set cause the kids started to ask why the spoons were burnt and stuff (My dad) and the dished were looking their age for sure. They were a cheap set when he bought them. So when I was at the superstore there was a sale on for dishes. Regularly $17 for $8. So I bought two sets. I brought home my new set all a glow just to find the mugs have shrank in the last twenty years. I love my cup of tea or coffee and I am not planning to use these dinky thimbles to get my fix. Even my guests are not grabbing them but the bigger older mugs for their joe. Have you noticed they shrank? Or do you buy dishes way more often than I that you don't realize the change? Do you need a big cup or is a swig enough?

| |  Not buying new dishe csets a lot doesn't mean your cheap. just go to a thrift store and you can get all sizes of cups and mugs because a lot of people get tired of the same ones and so donate them.

| |  well the didh sets you buy the mugs are always smaller,i buy seperate ones at the dollar store or walmart and man they are great for the price and they hold alot of caffene lol.hugs.pattie

| |  We have to buy our mugs in singles to be able to have them large enough. They are $2-$5 apiece, so its cost much more to do it that way, but we keep 4 on hand. Our dishes can with mugs that are too small to even fit a tea bag, much less add any water.

For some reason if you get mugs in a set of dishes they are really small. I usually go to Walmart or to The Dollar Store to get a BIG mug that I use for coffee! I don't see why they don't just up-size the mugs in the dish sets, they'd save a lot of people a lot of grief. Have a good day!

| |  WHen I went shopping for new dishes, I looked high and low and finally found a set with hugs mugs and soup bowls te size of my head.. Nice dark blue too!
I need a big cup of coffee.. half the time I drink out of a travel mug, even at home.
I know what you are talking about..those sad little teacupstyle mugs, many of which have a hole inthe handle too small to put fingers through...
Now.. If you want to fix yourself up with a really big coffee.. shop around and find a Bubba Keg. It's insulated, it's big , its hard to spill and it lasts for hours.. Perfect for the computer fanatic, lol!
