Catalog Shopping

I do much of my shopping via catalog. About a year and a half ago I started receiving this catalog that specializes in Retro items. I have not ordered anything from them so far, but I am into nostalgia enough to enjoy browsing through the catalog and finding items that take me back. was leafing through it last night and found a little pull telephone that chatters. I really smiled at that one because it was one I had gotten for my oldest daughter when she was a toddler about 40 years ago. I did find something that I would really like-an aluminum Christmas tree with the color wheel. Now, that brought back memories. I winced in pain however when I saw the price on it-$179.00!

I usually don't order via catalog anymore..the computer has taken over that!! So many of the catalogs I would get would have websites, so I check on them..I find ordering on-line to be so much faster! I don't know if they have a website..gee, will have to check..but the one catalog I used to literally drool over was that Swiss Colony one..the one with all the chocolates?? I used to spend a fortune with them Other catalogs I used to love getting, but never ordered from (too darn expensive!)...Coldwater Creek...Pyramid Collection, Shepler's

I had a cousin, pyewacket, that used to call them "wish books." He said they send them to you and you sit and wish that you had everything that's in them, lol. I have ordered from Swiss Colony, and they do have some treats. I get Pyramid Collection also, but have never ordered from them. You are right though, they are all online these days.

I have viewed many catalogs but I have never really shopped from them, I prefer to shop in public it is not as fun for me to shop alone.

I have been shopping from catalogs for a long time, bowtieguy, and I get a lot of pleasure from that. I don't have to fight the huge crowds in the stores and malls, lol.

They still make those aluminum Christmas trees? I didn't even know that. We had one of those for awhile when I was a kid. That really brings back some memories. However, I don't want one enough to pay $179.00 for it either.

Yes, cblackink, this is a specialty catalog that deals only in retro items-and they are mostly very pricey.

Our family had one of those when I was growing up in the 60's. It might still be in my parent's attic for all I know. They were so neat. I think if I could afford it, I would by one just for fun. I can still remember the silver tree in the living room with constantly changing colors.

I love catalog shopping too - doing catalog shopping
I just received what sounds like the same catalog and had a ball looking through it. I remember the old aluminum christmas trees with the color wheel. We actually still have black and white photos of it...lol....I do some catalog shopping at christmas but do most of it online.

Yes, ctry, it is a wonderful catalog filled with lots of bits and pieces of nostalgia. If I had the money I could think of a few things I might consider ordering, but the items are mostly out of my range-at least the ones that I would want the most, lol.
