Are VA Loans as great as they sound???

My husband and I are planning on buying our first home. We are looking into the benefits of VA Loans vs. bank loans. Does anyone here have any experience with VA Loans? Does it take longer than a regular bank loan? I've heard stories of VA Loans that took 5-6 months to go through. Please share your experience.

I dont know to much about the loans but I do know that my huband and I didnt use it. My husband said it was cheaper to not use it.

I think right now a VA loan may be easier to get than a regular loan. But you can also discuss this with a mortgage broker, as some are qualified to help you obtain a VA loan.
