Hi. I am pretty new here, so I am still learning things. What do the stars by the user names mean? Why do some people have them and others don't? Thanks for your help!

Well, the stars indicate your rating of discussions. The mylotters judge your discussions and amount of participation. And also they judge how positive and construction your participation has been and then rate you with a star. So start participating and posting some quality discussions, images and blogs and you would get a star too. :)

As others stated, it has to do with having 100 posts. I guess it has to do with the type of responses you give. For me, I always thought of it as a karma system in a way where they can either exhalt (Increase) or smite (Decrease) your rating on a forum. It probably is the best way to think of it like though but that's just me.

You will get your own star after you take part in a hundred discussions. So, you are almost there. It is the result of people rating your responses--the little plus and minis signs you see on people's replies--if you get a plus, you go up.

The stars by the user names are the ratings which you get , it comes when you reach your 100 posts , and it greatly depends on your activity in mylot. I see that you are very near to that 100 mark just 14 posts away , so just wait to see your first start come , hope it will be a good one . Best of luck to you, Happy mylotting

I don't think i need to answer your question anymore. But I hope you get a positive 8 or higher on your star when you do hopefully get it. Is it true, the higher the star the more you earn?? If that's the case don't be like me and speak your mind and risk offending someone lol goodluck :0)

Oh, don't worry, I'm sure at some point I will offend someone. I belive in speaking my mind. To me, I don't see a point in having discussions if there isn't some give and take of opinions. I actually wrote one of my articles on Helium.com on the importance of discussions with friends.
