Need tips for packing suitcase  

With security checks the way they are going I would still recommend have two suitcases. One for cloths only and one for shoes, cosmetics and blow drying, curling iron, etc.

As far as packing for clothes, take your standard black pants/skirt and 3 to 4 blouses/shirts. That way you can rewear the pants/skirt and change the top and possibly the shoes and still looks like you have a different outfit.

Or, because not knowing what kind of trip this is, take a couple of pairs of jeans and 3 or 4 shirts. Again, a shirt and changing into flip flops will change the jeans into another outfit.

I am the last person to give you tips on that. I take at least one huge suitcase for a trip that lasts overnight. Where you going? Will you be picking all of us up?

Since most hotel rooms have irons and board available, I would suggest packing tightly. My hubby does a lot of work travel, and manages to get things into 2 bags. One carry-on (this is usually his work stuff.) and one small suitcase. We pack 3 pants, 5 shirts, and then underthings for the week. He also fits an extra pair of shoes, and bathroom toiletries in there.

We roll everything in tight jelly-rolls, to save space. It's always worked for him. Yes, there are a few wrinkles doing it this way, but it's better than carrying a ton of cases and travel bags through the airport.

I am terrible at taking way too much stuff, but I'll tell you those bags you put your clothes in and suck all the air out with the vacuum cleaner are terrific. You would be amazed. Have a Great trip and hope to hear from you when you return. Hope this is a pleasure trip !!!

Pack only a few most necessary items to include a couple of pair of slacks, a couple of shirts to interchange with either of the slacks, underclothes, socks or stockings. People often bring way too much clothing when they are going on a trip. Depending on the length of the trip you can get buy with only 2 or 3 outfits by using colors that go well with one another.

I like to bring reversible skirts for more variety with less baggage -
shirts that go with more than one skirt.

I am told that rolling clothing keeps it from needing ironing and takes up less room - my last flight I rolled the clothes and then put them in one of those vacuum space saving bags which sucked down to fit into carry on - no problem.

with most airlines you are permitted a carry on plus a personal item which I decided to use a tote bag - in this I put my small purse, my ziplock bag items for easy access, my camera, magazines, and a packed lunch
