I'm guessing you don't live in/near the greater Los Angeles/Inland Empire region of southern California. That's all they play on the air waves! The only exception I'm aware of is the country stations which play the same 30 or so songs over and over. I'm so sick of hearing the same songs, over and over and over again that I stopped listening to radio years ago! But everywhere I work or shop, it's the same old thing. Forty plus years of the same songs, from the same era. So if you need your fix of oldies, try internet searching for radio stations from Los Angeles and see how many do webcasts. Good luck and enjoy!

I love listening to the oldies, but it's funny when those songs where the ones I use to watch come on for the first time on MTV. The debut of this video or that one... I remember when I had to be there when Duran Duran had a new video to be seen on MTV. On XM satellite, there's 80's, and 90's music and I love to listen to those channels. Certain songs can really bring back memories...good and bad.

i'm a U2 fan (2nd fave is Duran Duran). they started in the 80s and been a fan of them and their songs ever since. that's why, until today, i do not get tired of listening to their music( old and new - in fact, the old ones are much much better) coz the lyrics, the tunes, the melodies, the stye, their uniqueness are ageless. it's like if you don't know these bands and their songs, if it's your first time to see and hear them sing, you wouldn't think that they came from the 80s.

I love listening to all of those too plus stuff from the 50's and 60's. It is hard to hear that the music that I grew up with (the 70's and 80's), refered to as *oldies*. LOL

I also prefer listening to oldies music, however my taste is more on the 50’s and 60’ music. Growing up, I guess my taste in music was influenced by my father. He loved listening to songs by Dan Seals, Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers, Everly Brothers, The Cascades and other country and pop singers back then. So now that I am all grown up, I find that I prefer listening to old songs. Like you, they evoke memories of growing up and that generally good feeling of being relaxed

I still listen to it Waylon, Conway, heck I even have the Partridge Family nad hte Beach Boys and of course every album that Elvis ever did!! That was tried and true music. These days I can hardly understand a word they say and they don't have a theme or story or reason, just a bunch of nervous and jerky music with no meaning, as my dad would say!

I love to hear oldies both in english as well as hindi. They are basically love songs in english and classical songs in hindi which are meant for lovers. I also love to hear gazhals as they have deep meaning. But this does not mean that i dont like the latest songs.

I have a few oldie favorities that I like to listen to once in awhile, one of my favorites includes: "you shook me all night long" by ACDC. My dad is really big into the extremely old stuff, we're talking the old country hits from the 50s and 60s.

I love listening to old music. It really reminds me of my childhood. I listen to old music especially love songs and then reminisce about my childhood especially my high school life.

Yeah I do ..i love the oldies more than what we have today. Everything seems to be loud and the trend is all rocky en rolly.. The thing with the oldies there is a concept, specializing the words and the melodies.. and some of us here we listen to music and we have our own theme songs..Most of them are from 60's onwards. What makes a music is the tone, the melody.

Yes, I do. I have lots of cds form the 70's, 80's, and 90's. I still listen to them. I have newer cds as well. I buy them, record them on my computer, and hit random, and get a wide variety of music. I can go from disco to county, to hard rock, to pop. lol

I listen to those too! My playlist is full of things from the 80s mostly, a little of the early 90s and some of the 70s. That stuff was great. Not like the mid-late 90s and most of today's music. Sigh... -_-

Good Discussion - thank you, cocoa. To show that I am an enthusiast to oldies, that was why I have put up my discussion on my favorite song for Deep Purple - Soldier of Fortune. The words and sentences, every of it, really motivates me by reminding me that we are the soldiers in this world, no matter what obligations that we hold in our life. Even a President for one country, still a soldier to their people need. My previous discussion that I've started, about it; http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1297837.aspx But the photo was deleted as I have violated 'photo guideline' for copyrights reason.
