Do you think you can be original in starting new discussion on mylot?

I don't think so, after I look how many memebers are here and how long mylot is online. I don't know excat time, but I think it is about one year and sometimes it is like every question was asked and every answer was written. Do you feel sometimes similar?

I just came by to comment that I think you are very original with you posts. You do many a day, Im lucky to think of one! haha
I know I may not answering them all, but I think you are unique in what you come up with. Keep it up!

You know what, that's been my question as well. Sometimes I try to think HARD of new and interesting topics, only to find out that they've been asked months ago. That sometimes makes me discouraged he he he he...that's probably why I like commenting more than creating discussions.
But I've found very original discussions that I haven't read yet. ;-D

I do write original discussion topics and there are chances one or two topics might have been repeated by others in different form. But then I do select the topics which are commonly observed or seen or experienced and more or less general in nature.I am here for the past 1 year and 3 months.

It is very simple my dear. What is experienced you, if you put those in writing that is more original.
1. Today i saw a person talking over mobile and driving car, he almost hit another two wheeler. Create a discussion topic.
2. I went to a dept. store to purchase some clothes for my son. He is growing tall and slightly fat too. I could not find dress to suit his size. I reported the matter to store keeper and he took the size and said he will get the size made to the order. Make a topic on this , so that it can help many others to get their things done.
Some times I go into depression. Analyse the reasons and put it in discussion topic.
I put in hardwork for 12 to 13 hours a day and get my rewards. I am dedicated to my work and customer satisfaction is most important. I get repeat orders from customers because they are satisfied. Put these experiences into discussions. One two , ten, hundreds of such happenings every day can be made into topics.

That's right, I do the samething sometimes. I might talk about something that has hapen in my Life, or something that has happen that day.

Sure. I can think of some items that might be original, but they wouldn't be the kinds of things that would get any replies. For example, the role of phosphatydalserine in enhancing cognition! That, I think, would fall flat, although the topic is very interesting to me. I could love to start a discussion of John Milton's poem Areopagitica , but that, too, I think would fail to encourage discussion here on myLot. You have to be very fast the be the first to post something new here when choosing items with broad appeal. I though I'd be way ahead of the pack with a discussion on the cat that worked in a health-care facility and went to sit with dying people, but somebody got there first. I'll just keep trying, though.

Well, perhaps the topics are often repeated, but it's OK, since we might not be able to check out every topic before we raise out the discussion.
And the answer should sometimes be unique since people express their minds very differently,

Wow, You busted my Bubble, I just started a discussion similar to this one, I didn't even know you started it untill after I posted my discussion, I seen yours, I thought I was posting an original discussion, but you beat me too it, I am sorry about this, I thought mind was an original, but you put your discussion in first, which was 1 month ago. sorry! Hey friend..it is quite obvious that the discussion topics may repeat.Keep in mind that mylot has got more than 1 lakh members and this obviously does mean that there will be at least thousands of new discussions started daily,and there might be thousands and thousands of discussion topics altogether in the database of Mylot.So it is never easy to get a new topic started which has never been done by anyother member.So the point is not in starting new topics,but how the discussion is carried by the fellow mylotians.

I feel like that sometimes. I started a discussion about emails the other day and that one was completely original. I have a hard time stating dicussions for this very reason. I am afraid that someone will call me a copycat. That is why there are not many started by me.

Sometimes, I feel that way. But, there are unique situations happening to us all every day. So, even if it does get written more than once, if it is someone's own unique situation, their story will be different. I try to be as creative as possible and sometimes pictures help.

All discussions can be similar to any discussion, but its how we write it will be the difference. We all have different point of view, so if we want to discuss something that others may have discuss it, its how we have written the discussion that it will be unique.

Twice i think i had started a brand new discussion here.In first, i was enquiring about a personality, called Benjimin Zephaniah..
"Who is Benjamin Zephaniah" and after starting the discussion i found nothing of that name in simalar discussions.
Secondly the one i am going to start now after finishing this response.

Impossible to be original in "category" of question as all of the questions revolved in the human life circle. The only way of originality is "presentation" value. Where everyone has had posted with different way of presenting one's idea.
Maybe next time mylot will put up new category for "creative" discussion where its evaluation will be based on "new" subject of discussion and earning for it will be much higher than normal. "new" there means very creative, innovative and not yet posted by other member on previous discussion.

i dont know much about this coz when i posting my topic discussion, it tend to whats in my mind on that time. i dont have many time to check out whether my discussion already ever posted or not. something sure that i would to check when i saw my discussion not having any response from another. the effectively thing can be, if myLot system able to detect similiar posting of discussion or response. but we also cant neglect that might be some of myLotter being cheating in this forum by copy-pasting another discussion to be his/her own discussion. i believe myLot having system to recognize this matter

Even I have noticed here a lot of questions have been repetitive. But there have been a few interesting original questions at the same time. And I guess, even I have posted a few original discussions over here. If not original, at least unique in substance and theme. :) But I will surely try to post and am sure I can post something original and different from other posts. Thank you.

Yes, I have seen so many similar questions here. I think sometimes I can still create some brand new discussions but it's not easy:)

Hey,I sometimes also have the feeling that there're many similar or even the same discussions. But actually I don't know it's there before I post a new discussion.I raise one cause I really would like to listen or share sth with mylot friends. So it's a pity if I see that's not a new one. But there're also cases that what I post has never been posted before. I feel happy about that. So we can just wish we'll explore more new topics and discussions.Good luck for both of us:)
