Animal hording

My husband and I have 2 pairs of chinchillas and both pairs had babies. In the process of rehoming the babies I had a lady ask me about getting one and she seemed really nice. However, my reservation came when she told me she already owned rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, sugar gliders, degus, another chinchilla and rabits. She then told me where she lived and in the small community I live in, I know that the area she is in is drug infested, lower than low income, and there is a lot of animal abuse cases from that area. I politly told her that all the babies were rehomed and wished her luck finding one. Was this wrong of me? I feel I have an obligation to the baby animals to make sure they go to a safe environment but did I cross the line? Its bothering me now that I think about it but on the other hand I feel good knowing that the people that did 'adopt' our babies will give them good homes...don't get me wrong, I didn't rehome them with only the wealthy! As a matter of fact they went to low to middle income people that showed they had priorities in order and some of whom even had a couple of other pets but also enough time to properly care for all the pets they had. Please let me know.
