I collect One Rupee coins from all over the World, I want to specialise in this only! I know there are very few countries with One rupee as their Currency! But still I get an opprtunity to collect from about 7 to 8 countries! I hold National Record to collect Historical One rupee coins in India! My oldest coin dates back 1540 ! It is the first coin of One rupee issued by then the King Sher Shah Suri. Before this there was no concept of One rupee. Thus this is the first ever one rupee coin appeared in the World! It was standardised and weighs 11gms and there after one rupee was adopted as a standard form of Currency and till the day this is very much in existance! I have got about 125 various One rupee coins issued by various Indian Kings and also the coins belonging to the regime of East India Company! The added attraction of my collection is One rupee coins with Mint errors! The coins which get misprinted and they are not come out for circulation! I love coin collection and I keep them very systematically in an Album and I add a brief history about the coin just beside it!
Thanks dear friend for initiating such a nice discussion !I enjoyed the participation!

I don't collect coins for the most part. Once in awhile I will find an interesting limited edition coin that i'll keep. The coin that I like best is one penny that I found that was made during my birth year. I also like to collect two dollar bill and currency from other countries like Mexico and Japan.
