New George Strait CD!  |

 Have y'all heard George's new CD? I just heard it, and man it is good!
For a while there his music was just passable, but this last CD has got a new spark in it!
You see when George first had a hit with "If you're thinking you want a stranger", there was something different than the regular country & western at that time, and I really liked it because it was something fresh to country music!
And in this last CD there is something different and fresher, than the last 20 yrs of country music and I can hear it, I really like it!
I really don't like a lot of these other new artists, they have too much rock in their country!

I agree with you on the newer country. I listen to country for the country, I don't want to hear the rock or hip hop in it. I like several of the older artist but not very many of the newer artist. Enjoy your cd.

The comment about the rock stars should have read "Some of them SHOULD (not sound) be rock stars and not country musicians." hahahaha Too bad mylot don't have a button to push so people like me can repair their mistakes. hehe

 oneandonemakesix (24038) | 2 years ago |  LOL seems that people wanted to lobby to rename his CD 50 number 1 hits to 51 number hits as the new song on that CD went directly to number 1, but the label wouldn't do it.
I didn't know there was a new cd out, but I have to say that even though I'm behind, I did manage to hear about the George Strait Concert here in B'more, that my husband managed to suprise me with a ticket for Christmas
So on Jan 26 my day on mylot is going ot be trunkated so I can go here him at Firt Mariner Arena...
While he's not playing stadiums anymore, I'm thrilled to be going to see him in concert, and little Big Town is opening for him.

| 5. oneandonemakesix (24038) | 2 years ago | Even with just 'passable' the man still sounds good, I haven't been able to hear it all however I have to say right now that there is a reason he's considered king of Country music...
As far as some of the new artists there are those that are really to pop and rocky for my taste, but I really really like the new Garth Huey Lewis and the News cover that they did this year.
And I have to say that Bon Jovi did an incredible job of Who Says you can't go home, with Jennifer Nettles, and he is one of the stars of rock music that can fit in almost anywhere.
