What cartoons brighten your day? What cartoons make you think? Why?

Peanuts, Garfield, and Tiger really brighten my day. Usually one of the three, if not all of them make me smile. They take every day things and put a different spin on them. Family Circus, For Better or For Worse, and the Phantom make me think. Family Circus does similar to the others, but I like to think if I had kids how that would be. For Better or For Worse really makes me think about different stages of my life and what I might want to do concerning each one and it tries to help different groups as well as ages of people. The Phantom, I like to try to predict what will happen next. Your turn, which cartoons brighten your day or make you think and why?

polgas - pugad baboy's polgas
here in the Philippines, we have a particular comic strip called Pugad Baboy, or "Pigs Nest", and i think it makes most filipinos (including me!) laugh their hearts out. the author has a certain degree of humor which tickles the filipino funny bone. and the best part of it, its no ordinary comic strip which makes you laugh. it makes you think, and hopefully you get the joke, then laugh. c",)

hell yeah! lotsa fun! i wish i could share the jokes, but unfortunately they're in filipino. and usually, jokes revolve around local current news, rumors, and all. but i think i made an impression of how fun PB comics are. c',) ..and hey, thanx for the BR and compliment. c',)

Yes, I speak French, too. I also do sign language and some things just don't translate well because of cultural differences, too. Take care

I love Peanuts and Garfield the best. I used to read Batman, and when I was younger Little Lulu and when I was a teenager, the Archie comics. They did not make me reflect on life, but they made me forget about myself. I did love the little kids on Family Circus, and those innocent questions that they asked, and also BC where they had this guy inventing the wheel. I never was that fond of For Better or Worse. It seemed a bit too serious. When I wanted a serious comic it was usually those Rex Morgan, MD or Kerry Drake, Detective, but we will not see their like because it appears true graphic art is only reserved for graphic novels, not for every day comics.

calvin and hobbes always puts a grin on my face. ^__^ calvin is such a smart kid to the point that he is annoying. LOL and he doesn't seem weird with his imaginary friend hobbes even if he firmly believes that hobbes is alive. those two really provides me with kiddie antics. ^__^ Ben and Baby Blues also give a smile to my face now and then. I just enjoy the family jokes. ^__^ and then there are 2 local comic strips that really brighten my day with the silliness of the characters. they are both university-based jokes and the characters deal with lots of personal and school stuff. ^__^

I love Calvin and Hobbes. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on there, just like Mother Goose and Grimm had imaginary to real going on for awhile and it took a little while for me to catch on. I don't think I've read Ben and Baby Blues. Yes, local ones can be fun because they're like inside jokes that only people in that community understand. Take care

I think curious george is adorable. I watched the new version one day at my brother's house. Spongebob doesn't do much for me, but I can see how a little kid might get into it. Never saw Little Bear, what station is that on and when (like daily in am or ?). Yes, seeing cartoons through the eyes of a child, there is nothing like it. Take care

All three of those are a lot of fun. Right now, there have been a lot of Popeye DVDs for sale, my husband bought one set. REally a lot of fun. Maybe that's part of why they aren't on TV right now. Take care
