Oh you need to get yourself a few cats..I have no family and so I spent my Thanksgiving relaxing..and my cats were quite happy that I wasnt busy all day at work..
You would be surprise what a difference a few pets make even for a single person..they are very friendly and know when you are feeling down;)

People are picky! And you're not gonna believe the response anymore than I do, but...I am too much a nice guy. That is why I am alone. I don't think of women as second class citizens or you-know-what receptacles, I don't want dinner waiting for me when I get in the door, I get my own drink and hers when I get up to refresh, I open doors for her, car or otherwise, I do windows, laundry, etc. I will not have the name calling arguments, get into physical fights, will take a walk or drive til tempers come down low enough to discuss the issue, I adorn my love with compliments and touch frequently, and other typically "non-male" attributes. Sounds great, huh? What I have learned from x's is that they are so uncomfortable with a guy like me that they get scared that it won't last. Too good to be true. So they dump me. And then after time, regret it. And then tell me about it. And then expect me to get back together with them after being treated worse than poo. Yeah. Whatever.

Agreed, lilfran! But I do hope that none of us become so lonely that our pets are our only option of sharing feelings! I have the most adorable, exceptionally affectionate cat! He is awesome! But this does not replace the human sharing experience - nor should it. I agree that pets are awesome companions, but I don't think a person should substitute human interaction with a non-human interaction. Just my opinion. And seeing to how I'm still alone after more than 4 decades, take my opinion lightly! But don't mess with my cat!!

I sooooo agree! And it is! But so many people give up on what is natural for we humans to do. Our culture seems to breed this intentionally. And then all of us turn around and complain about it! But thankfully there are people like you who don't subscribe to this ignorant ideology! So, being that it is Thanksgiving, I am now also thankful for you coming into my life! Thank you and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

i heard when at the chanksgiving day, the whole family in the west will stay together. just like the mid-autumn day festival of china. so i can image your feeling when you are alone at thanksgiveing day. you can join us. just stay at the internet. good luck.
