No sir, what I am saying is that they can celebrate their holiday as well. They should have the freedom just as much as Christians do. In college they actually have a day dedicated to celebrating other religions it's called multi-cultural day. But on that day Christians are not there to do their celebrating but the others are. They have a day then to celebrate, why take away Christmas from the majorities in America? I am not against their religion. I am for religion. Why take away Christmas or stop the majority from celebrating their special holiday? As far as the decors, gifts and such well that is due to retailers wanting to make some big bucks. That is not what the meaning of Christmas is.

You make a good point, josephthedreamer. But personally, I side with cartoon4umaniacs. I was a Jehovah's Witness once, and they don't believe in celebrating Christmas. On such holidays, we'd go to the bowling alley. But we didn't find it necessary to take tradition away from others.

The U.S. has a lot of Muslims now, and they tend to push pretty hard for their own culture. In this country, a driver's license serves as picture identification. But for religion's sake, Muslim women are insisting that they take the picture with their faces covered. And our government is caving in.

I have no problem with other people's culture, and even with missions, but what justifies emigrating to a foreign country and taking legal action against that country's own culture? One of the issues between Great Britain and the original colonists in America was church reformation. The U.S. was born Protestant (this isn't really the point, since both Christians and Roman Catholics celebrate Christmas).

God is part of the American culture. God is in the Declaration of Independence itself, one of the very most important documents in this country's history. It will not be changed, and it SHOULD not be changed. If non-Christian believers have a problem with this, they can seek "refuge" elsewhere. If atheists and anti-Christ want God out of their culture, let them form their own sovereignty.

If they are following the amendment of freedom - do you think for one minute that the school would allow the kids or their parents to pass out a flyer about one of their belief? There are alot of religions even non-religions in thsi country...if the school puts out their own view, they should allow others to put out theirs, but you know that isn't going to happen. That's why parents ahve to be so involved in their child's life at school - you never know what is being circulated or taught. And kids don't know the difference.

Where exactly is the Christian "god" in the Declaration of Independence? All I see is the figure of speech pertaining to one's "god-given rights", it's not exactly claiming Christianity as a foundation. Are you also not aware that the U.S. was founded to BE the "refuge" from oppressive religion? Nor are we a sovereign nation. Most of the founding fathers were agnostics and theists, not Christians.

No dear they just said don't do it at school, but what right do they have to tell me I can't? What happen to our freedom? Is Christians or people who believe in celebrating Christmas band from freedom of religion? That's what I want to ask the government and the school/education system. Thank you for your comment.

The problem is the ALCU, (I think thats the organization) They have the schools thinking that they can't celebtate Christmas or the school will be sued and will lose. But the truth is that they can.

That is just plain crazy, this country everyone is sue happy meaning they love to sue anyone for any reason.

No one said you're not allowed to be Christian and you're not getting flogged and executed for celebrating Christmas. However, out of respect for everyone else and THEIR freedoms to religion, one is not permitted to perform actual practices of their religion in state-run and funded buildings and environments, aka schools. Though I'm not sure what Christmas practice you're trying to advocate the public use of.

I don't know about that, but if it is an isolated incident it won't be for long. They want to make it seem as though we have freedom of religion here in the states but then again they turn around and do the opposite. You know those politicians, they say one thing to get them voted in then do another to stay in.

That is a very good comment. What they are doing is not keeping our kids safe but actually doing harm to them. They are like you said taking away the freedom of our children. Our children are our future so in theory they are taking away our future. Thanks for your comment.

Yup to each it's liking. If they want to they can if they don't they don't have to. Freedom of religion. I have not heap if someone hates to celebrate Xmas and I love it if someone wants to and even love it more if they want to donate because the season inspire them too. Especially if they want to donate to me LOL just kidding. God is everywhere if your faith is that he is walking with you, but for those who shut him out will never feel his true love in your heart.....

Where is this misinformation coming from? The US was not founded on Christianity, it was founded on the FREEDOM of religion. Meaning there was NO central religion at it's foundation.

It was founded on the freedom for religion. But what faith did our founding father's have? Was it not Christianity? Was it something else? I don't get it I was taught that GOD and Christianity were the believes of our founding fathers of this country therefore that is why you see and have evidence that documents that look at the dollar bill or and money printed in this nation "GOD" is there. They try to take him off but I don't think that is wise to do. If you go back into your history book my dear you will find God is there too. Yes the sad truth of today. Retailers and so call money makers has turn the true meaning of Christmas into a day to make $$$$$$$ and no more what it really is. But there are still some of us who are willing to teach and others who are willing to learn what it truly is. Christmas is the day God came to earth and that is when our lives and everyones on this planet has changed forever. Thanks for your comment.....
