If he's always been like that I don't think there's much you can do. Some people are just a lot quieter than others. What are his interests? Maybe if you talk to him about things he likes then you could get a lot more out of him.

I can understant your mood.
Because my husband is same as your husband.He has a big characterstic.Or doesn't speak anytime,or says some that i am not interesting.For instance,something about his work,it lets me feel so boring.I think he talking with me in order to complain.So sad i am.

tell him that it bothers you and have a heart to heart'
talk with him.some guys are not talkitive but get to
the things he likes that you also like and know something
about and talk up a storm. then he has to answer out
of politeness. tell him you get lonely. share your problems
he is your husband and should be there for you. if all
else fails say talk to me, it worked on my own husband.

I have the same problem with my husband he is kind,loyal, hardworking and loving just to name a few of his good points.I find if I start a conversation it is a real struggle to get an answer,if I do get a reply but he seems to know so much about everything,and if I try to say something about the news he comes out with all the facts and then he stops talking I am left with nothing left to say.I did have a word with him about this aspect of our relationship and he said he did not see it as a problem.I just called him a know it all opinionated elephant.He just sat there and apologised to me,he thought it was a sign of strength by having an answer for everything.He is different with me now and will start a conversation with me and listen to me,Don't get me wrong he is not tight,I get as much food brought as necessary and the house is warm.He does not give me housekeeping as such as long as I am sensible ,which you have to be ,I can have as much as I need make-up hair appointments,ect.He just did not listen to me,so I know how you feel,I am a housewife through choice and sometimes he is the only one I see to talk to some days.When I pointed it out he was really kind about it,he gets tired and forgets sometimes,have a word with your man ,I am sure he does not realise you are getting lonley.
