1st Video Game System you ever Played |
| |
| Just out of curiousity, what was the 1st video game system you have ever played in your life? For me, I remember there were 2 systems that I played, the NES and the Atari 2600. The NES still works after about going to be 18 years next year. It's really something to have something you've had since your childhood continue right now as I am older. I still got other systems as well but these ones actually hold a special place with me as they were the symbol of when I started video game playing. I did move up to play other systems like the PS1, Genesis, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube to name a few. Some systems much like the Genesis, SNES, and N64 I ended up getting a bit later when they stopped making new games for them. For some reason, I want to get the Jaguar just for curiousity reasons and also the Sega Saturn. I think to be honest, I've become somewhat of a collector but I actually play the systems. As far as hand-helds go, my 1st was the Game Boy. It was a big deal when I got it and I still got the original to say the least. I think I'm a bit of a classic gamer more so than anything else. What was your 1st system that you played video games with for the 1st time ever? | | | | | |

| | The first game I ever played was Super mario on the original Gameboy. That thing was as big as a brick! It's amazing how far games & technology has come nowadays | | | | | | |

| | I agree. Look like the technological world keeps evolving. Look where we're at now as far as gaming technology goes. Good times. Now we got the Hand-Held world going with the DS and PSP, though I'm not sure how it will continue to get topped as far as innovation goes. | | | |

| | The first game system I ever played was a regular Nintendo, with games like Mario, Duck Hunt, and StarFox. | | | | | | |

| | I remember Mario and Duck Hunt. I got that together and also got Donkey Kong Classics. Those were my 1st games ever. Good times. I hadn't played Star Fox but have heard of it. I'll have to look into it sometime and see what happens. | | | |

| | Sounds like it was one of the old Pong systems that was out during that time frame. I believe that was when video gaming was just starting out at the time. I could be wrong though but I believe that to be the case. Thanks for the response. | | | |

| | My first ever video game was played on an IBM personal computer. It was one of the first PCs in the world with those big floppy drive and green CRT screen. It was a simple shooting game where you are supposed to shoot all the aliens spaceships that came to attack earth. It was fun and I got quite addicted to it. LOL! | | | | | | |

| | You mean Space Invaders? I know that game very well. Now, it's almost like who hasn't play that game. That's very interesting to say the least. I knew PCs were slowly getting out there later on. Thanks for the response. It's really interesting. | | | |

| | I think it is listed as one of the greatest games of all time. I think almost anybody who's ever played a video game has heard of Space Invaders and played it in one form or another. I'm not sure what number though but it's got to be listed as one of the top games ever. | | | |

| | Interesting. I didn't know Namco designed a family computer. You learn something new everyday. I'm actually serious. I really had no idea on that. Thanks for the response. I'll have to consider researching and maybe find out what it was called. Maybe it is Land of Overlord. | | | |

| | It's cool. No big deal. Wasn't really sure but that is interesting to say the least. I should have realized that but I didn't. I probably wasn't thinking clearly but that happens. I know what you're talking about though. | | | |

| | My first ever game I played was on the Dreamcast, but I forget what the name of the game was - I have a feeling it was something to do with a show that used to be on Nickleodeon, but I can't for the life of me remember what. As far as handhelds go, my first was also the Game Boy, my Godfather bought me one with a Mario ping-pong type game. (Black and white, of course!) | | | | | | |

| | Interesting. The Dreamcast ironically was the last system I actually bought that I was able to afford. I only got 1 game and that's NFL2K. That was the game I got with it when I bought it and so far I like the Dreamcast. I'm going to try to get some more. For the Game Boy, it would be I got Tetris, Mega Man III, and something else I can't remember what it was off the top of my head. | | | |

| | Pong. Yeah, that's right - I said Pong. By 3 months into it, I was bored stiff. Plus it burned the pattern into the TV. Probably why I'm not into video games today. | | | | | | |

| | Interesting. Now they just make Pong as a game for other systems. I got one for the PlayStation actually though it's a bit different. Thanks for sharing though. I never knew it could really do something like that or realize it. I think they corrected that problem overtime. | | | |

| | First console I played was most likely a Playstation or NES, if it was a Playstation the first game was ReBoot, or if it was the NES it was one of the Ninja Turtles games. Those were great times. | | | | | | |

| | I remember playing my first NES when I was probably about six. The baby sitter had one and I remember trying to learn how to play mario. I played that system a lot over the years (not at the babysitters). Right before they were done making them, we got one of the newer ones, it must have been Christmas of 1997. We don't have it, not because I wouldn't love to have it, but because my rat chewed the cable and my mom threw it away. Well, since then I have played a few, we now own a Dreamcast, but I really am not a huge gamer. | | | | | | |

| | I had a BBC Micro and a Pong system when I was very young. Then a C64 followed by a PC (followed by even more PCs). The first full "games system" was a second hand, half dead GBA I swapped a (fairly decent) PC for with my brother. The first game system I bought was a NDS as I really enjoyed the GBA (even though it only had Super Mario Brothers on it). The first (and so far only) none-hand held console is my Wii. | | | | | | |
