I think eleven or twelve. I belive the kids at school were saying he wasn't real. Gee Ididn't want to beleive it. Of course I asked my parents, and they said he was. but after that I could not be sure, and so I never said anything about Santa to the other kids again.
But you have to admit Christmas is a magical time of year. Once a year everyone comes toghter, wheater it be family or friends. Helping the needy or the seniors. Almost everyone wants to spread some good cheer.

That it is, :) I'm glad the christmas spirit has survived thus far. It'd certainly be dreary world without it I think.

Santa is real my friend. At least he was real person. Saint Nicolaus was real. Maybe fake Santa is not real but it is different story.
We all are like new age Santas...:)
Santa created the art of giving....

'Twas why I said "not -exactly- real", I was referring to the lie (though a fun and good one, lol) that parents tell their children that Santa as a elf-person will come down the chimney and put presents under the tree at midnight or just before christmas morning.
Santa IS more of a...philosophy I think, an inspiration to how we should be. Giving, not expecting anything in return. Happy even through hardships.
His spirit, as a person, in my opinion is what makes the modern christmas holiday valid and meaningful beyond religion.

I was around 5 or 6 when I caught my grandparents putting chocolates and money on my stockings.
I used to question if Santa is really true and my folks made me believe that it is really true. As a child, we tend to believe everything our parents will tell us and as an innocent one I did believe he was really true. Belief ended when I caught my folks putting something on my Christmas sock/stockings one early morning. But catching them doing such did not lead me to hate them rather continued to practice a tradition. Good thing is I am a light sleeper, who could easily sensed noise...lol

Yeah, that's always something that amazes me.
Most kids aren't angry when they find out that Santa's not real and that their parents basically lied to them about it lol.
I was amused when I figured it out.

I was 5 years old. My older siblings kind of ruined it for me. My own kids were about 8 or 9 when they figgured it out.

Yeah, I asked some adults a while back, alot of them said they can't remember, heh.
And lol, aw, ah well. At least you got to enjoy the myth of Santa a bit before that, even if you can't remember it much heh.

I was 7.
I'll never forget it.
I had been snooping through presents prior to Christmas, which was nothing unusual for me, lol.
I spotted a Barbie carrying case and some other stuff that I don't recall.
In our house, gifts from Santa were unwrapped, so it was always easy for me to point out the ones from Santa then unwrap the ones from mom & dad.
Well, this time, come Christmas morning, mom says "there's one present under the tree that isn't wrapped and isn't from Santa, can you guess which one it is?"
Well, there sat the Barbie case, unwrapped.
Then, due to my smartness (lol), I spotted a diary that was still shrink-wrapped and wore a price tag from the Ben Franklin store uptown. Yep, that was the one. Santa doesn't fool around with price tags.
I let them go on thinking I believed in Santa for a few more years. It seemed important to them, and it was fun.
I had my suspicions about Santa being bu-sha before that, but the attempting to trick me into narcing myself out for peeking clenched it.
