Hello All, We've all seen flyers for any number of department stores that have pictures of babies prominently advertising clothes, cribs, toys, etc... Our daughter & son-in-law took a picture of our grandson wearing a GAP sweatshirt that is simply amazing. Everyone who has seen the picture has suggested that they should contact THE GAP, and see if they want to use it in their advertising. What do you think? Have you ever submitted a child's picture to be used in corporate advertising? What do you think is involved? Do you think it's a good or bad idea, and why? Thanks, I look forward to your input.

I respect other people's opinions on this, but personally I think it is a bad idea. It is a good idea for the publio, maybe, because they would get much enjoyment out of seeing a cute child. Also, it could conceivably result in a nice bit of income that could be used for the child's education later on, so in theory that would be great. My reasons for recoiling from the idea on a personal level would be more metaphysical, in the sense that the child's image would be exposed to the public before the child's natural defenses were fully developed. Although I don't fully believe in the germ theories of Western Medicine, I do believe that people's thoughts can operate somewhat on the germ model. I know that is a strange concept, hard for many people to grasp, but my view is why take a chance?

I don't necessarily believe that this is a good idea.
