 I mean who expected Dudly to say thank you for saveing his life in the 5th book that was cool.But what i want to know is what his aunt was going to say before she jerked her head and walked away.

1.  houndsgood (597) | 2 years ago | I don't think she could bring herself to say anything even though Harry saved her Dudikins because there are too many mixed emotions so its easier to be haughty. Based on the flashbacks from the childhood of Petunia and Lily, she may not be really scared about the wizarding kind, but still resentful that they didn't allow her "in." And having them impose exile and protection on her - they just keep intruding on her life. Even though Lily has passed, she can never escape it and its never "over and done." She gets constant reminders. | |

3.  aseretdd (6851) | 2 years ago |  The goodbye between Dudley and Harry was quite unexpected for me... i thought that they will still see each other again after the wizard war and then... they will have that sort of reconciliation there... after reading book 7... i wondered what happened to the dursleys...
In one of the interviews...J.K. Rowling said that Aunt Petunia wanted to say something like goodluck or take care but she couldn't bring herself to do it since she was so used to ignoring Harry and the wizarding world... she is so full of resentment because her sister is a witch with powers and she doesn't...

| 4. ram_cv (2256) | 2 years ago |  Yes, you are right, J.K. Rowling did spring a surprise showing a growing sense in Dudley. It was nice and I myself liked it. I believe Aunt might herself have wanted to say a goodbye to her son, but the fear of Uncle Vernon might have made her change her mind.

| 5. AnoChaudhary (989) | 2 years ago |  i actually liked it a lot....specially the way JK presented it. There was no drama kind of situation. Harry probably grew up faster than anyone because of him being the 'marked man' or the 'boy who lived' thing., but Dudley had to take his time and its nice he did grow up LOL i loved the scene and as for Aunt Petunia poor lady she was never allowed to be 'in' nor is she fully 'out' of the wizarding world...Harry must have been a constant reminder to her.........just like he was to Snape....who loved and lost Lily.....but i was happy and surprised with the parting..neat and nice:)
