After the mail runs...

Wouldn't it be nice if there were a flag that went up after the mail runs? If you have outgoing mail you know he has been there because the flag goes down. Otherwise, if your mail doesn't run at the same time every day and you are expecting something you may check the mail 2 or 3 times before the mail actually runs.

There is actually a flag you can get that goes on top of the mailbox to let you know when the mail has come. I don't know what it is called, but it is square and it pops up when the box has been opened. The only thing is, if it doesn't pop up you won't know if it's because the mail hasn't come or if you just didn't have any today. But then again, if you don't have any, you don't need to go out to the box anyway. My neighbor has one, so I check their box, if the flag is up, I know our mail has come too.

They used to do that years ago in the country, but you can by one of those at home depot and put in in the yard and make sure you put your name on it and by the lock from the post office.

I am lucky I guess. Our mailman pulls up in his truck everyday within a 15 minute window. I always know that if I wait until noon to go out that the mail will be in the box.
My neighbor has a thing on her mailbox that goes up when her mail gets delivered. It is pretty cool. She is an older lady and she actually drives down to her mailbox to get her mail.
