Only a Mother . . .

Our neighbour has rather expanded in girth and he had some virtually new knitwear which he kindly gave to us as an early Christmas box.
Among the jumpers is a lovely mauve and white number, with a fair isle yoke and I love it.
I correctly guessed that his Mother made it for him. He has lost her so obviously he doesn't want to actually throw it away, and I shall take great joy in wearing it.
Only a Mother could make a girly mauve and white jumper for a six foot two, fifty plus, size 20 boy, yes?

perhaps but i think anyone could have made the stuff for him perhaps a friend, an aunt, a grandmother, or maybe even a wife i would understand him not wanting just to throw it away but if i were him i would not just want to give it away either (no offense of course) but if the stuff if senimental enough for him not to throw away i do not understand why it is not senimental enough to prevent him from just giving it away but i do admire his thoughtfulness
