My Christmas Miracle

My Christmas Miracle Thought I'd give an up-date about something. If you remember I had started a discussion called, "Have You Ever Wanted Something...And.." You can see it here. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1349302.aspx I was relating how tight money has been lately, and it was getting to the point that it seemed more than any other year at this time, how hard it's been for me to be in the Christmas spirit, since it looked like this was going to be the first year ever in my life that I would be without a Christmas tree. So I was turning into a real ba-humbug. And I know a Christmas tree isn't a vital essential to one's life but I guess the "kid" in me looks forward to having that wonderful live Christmas tree every year, and artificial ones just didn't cut it for me...besides some artificial ones can almost be just as expensive, it not more that the real McCoy So okay I was being a bit whiney..LOL as I kept saying over and over again in my discussion, I WANT THAT TREE! I was saying it like a mantra. As the days rolled by I was actually getting depressed about the whole thing ..AND THEN.....Some wonderful MyLot elves (or faeries) truly did some magic for me. I'm not going to name names, uh, seems if one mentions names that is considered a no-no...but the people know who they are. One person here came through and as a gift sent me via my Paypal account some of the green stuff. Then another MyLotter emailed my at my private email address, begging me NOT to get a Tree...I was going to forgo maybe paying some of my bills you see and get the tree. She asked for my address and I gave it to her. Now this person isn't even here in America! So I'm thinking, gee, what is this person up to, and at first, I thought, oh, my, is she sending me money so I can get the tree? Then I happen to look at my spam/bulk folder and there was an email from a Melissa and the email said: ,,,"Hello - This note is to let you know that you will be receiving a real Christmas tree this week. A friend of yours who has asked to remain anonymous has asked me to let you know so you won't be too surprised when a large package shows up on your doorstep. The tree has been drilled so it's ready for any sort of stand; if you can cut a 2" piece of the bottom of the trunk that's best. If you can't, that's fine also, the tree will still last. The package ships UPS and you can expect to receive it probably between Wednesday and Friday. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me during the week. Happy Holidays! -- Melissa Atkin Tannenbaum's Christmas Tree Company Customer Service Manager ..." I'm like holy moly. I'm sure glad I looked in my spam folder and now I'm thinking like wow...this MyLotter somehow arranged this...BUT, she wasn't the only one. Now I know for sure who the one person is who arranged this....but she told me it was a bunch of folks here that got things going, and on pain of death, she refuses to tell me who the other conspirators are. So, sure enough yesterday, Friday at around 10:30 in the morning my bell rings and it's the UPS truck and my tree was delivered to me....As soon as it came, I dragged out my tree stand and put it in...I managed to do some decorating, at least put the lights on and tree topper..I plan to decorate more this coming week. But I have it decorated under as well with the tree skirt and "props"--empty boxes wrapped up to look like presents underneath--must be the scenic designer in me, plus a few of my stuffed toys and a santa and mrs claus figurines and so forth If you wondering what I did with the money I got via PayPal from the other MyLotter here...With that money I was able to get a make-shift tree, not a pine Christmas tree but this really cute Rosemary plant that I got at my local Walgreens, that was predecorated like Christmas tree and was so cute that I got it...and heck...can use it later for my seasoning in cooking--I have to have it as a hanging plant cause my cats became fascinated with it and wanted to chew on it...bad kitties!! But I have it hanging up in my bedroom window. I hope to get film (not a digital camera user) and take photos next week --another seeming miracle happen too---just today in the mail my rather cheapsake Aunt --LOL--sent me a money gift...hey she out did herself.. instead of the usual $10 or $20 money gift she sent a $50 check!! So Monday, will go to my bank and deposit it It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas........ I'm happy, happy, happy and dancing around now..I GOT MY TREES!!! And I really want to thank the MyLot elves and faeries here who made it possible to enjoy my Christmas--I call my trees LOVE trees, as I was able to get them out of the pure kindness and love from my friends here. Now of course I know definitely who the one "Elf" is, plus the other person who initially arranged the delivery of the tree...uh...but would LOVE to know who the other elves were as I would love to thank you from the bottom of my heart....okay...so who are you...confess, tell me who you were!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!! Words alone can't express my wonderful gratitude Okay to make this a discussion...Have any of you had your own "elf" or "faerie" do some wonderful, kind-hearted fantastic good deed that seemed like a bit of a miracle and did it out of the genuine kindness of their hearts and put faith back into your soul that even though there is a lot of pain, and sadness in the world, this kind act restored your faith that there is kindness and love still in the world??? As that saying in the 2003 version of Peter Pan: .." I do believe in faeries, I do, I do. I do believe in faeries, I do, I do!"

That is wonderful Pye. I'm so glad to hear that. I don't have any mylot faeries, but I do have some good news. I do surveys for rewards, and occasionally they will pay me money. I just got asked to do one in a few weeks that will pay me 60 dollars (I did the same one 2 yrs. ago so I know they pay). That will pay for more than half of what it will cost to get my dog fixed (which I am required to do per apartment agreement). I'm thankful God put that in my path because I didn't know how I was going to do it. But I am overjoyed so much that people still show how much they still care today. Distance, age, whatever, it is wonderful to see people find a way to show how much they care. : )

Wow that's great about that survey thing. I'm earning a little extra myself for articles I'm writing for Exquisite Writing and just got another assignment my self..Lot of work involved but hey it'll be worth it to get that extra money, right? With SSI every extra bit helps right? And nice to do something Off the books..heck SSI doesn't have to know everything, do they? LOL

Hi pyewacket, Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful Christmas miracle. What a beautiful surprise, and such a kind gesture from friends that you've never actually met. Some people that we actually see in our offline lives, would never do anything this unselfish, and caring. Enjoy your lovely tree. I have experienced many miracles in my lifetime, at Christmas, and other times of the year. One in particular was very special. We live in a townhouse, that was built in the 70's. Since I pay a mortgage, I'm responsible for any repairs etc., on the inside. Our only bathroom was in a terrible state. The toilet had to be turned off after each use, as water would leak onto the floor, and it wouldn't shut off automatically. The walls were showing signs of black mould. The living room ceiling would leak, at times, and plaster would drop onto the floor, etc. etc. A dear friend of ours was coming to take a look at the toilet, and I was going to buy a $20.00 part to stop the leaking. He didn't like the looks of things, so contacted a mutual friend who's a contractor, to take a look. This 'contractor' was appalled when he saw the condition of everything. By the way, I didn't have 'the means' for major repairs of this kind. To make a long story short, a group of dear friends, headed up by 'this angel of a friend' got together, and built us a whole new bathroom. They gutted the whole thing, and redid it. They even got some 'freebies' from a local hardware type store, that is very community minded. There was a safety factor here too, as the toilet and bathtub were no longer bolted to the floor, and it was rotten underneath. I had no idea of this. This contractor said that the floor would've caved in taking the fixtures down with it. They would've crashed into the living room. Another thing, a lady was remodelling her home, and had an old (but nice)dishwasher. She wondered if they'd like to give it to us. When it was about to be installed, faulty wiring was found in the kitchen. Apparently we were on the brink of an electrical fire, or someone being electrocuted. My daughter and I are (and were) so thankful for this generosity. It restored my faith in people, as the miracle of your tree has, once again. There are 'angels' walking among us, and they're actually residents of this earth. Great discussion. Take care.:)

Oh Mom!!! So Glad that you were saved form an uncertain fate! What a beautiful and most generous gesture on the part of this group of friends...Certainly does restore your faith in mankind.... If more of this went on in the world life would be better for us all! Selfless act...hmmmmmm Makes me wander is there anything I can do for someone...especially at Christmas! Thanks so much for sharing this heartfelt story and am so glad that all is well in your house now and pray there are no other disasters waiting :) You should post for us a photo of your new bathroom sometime...I'm sure we would enjoy sharing in your happiness :) Take Great Care My Friend!! That was a fantastic story someonesmom--I already gave br to Transdisc but just know if I could give more than one BR your story would get it too...drat, I wish we could give more than one BR!! When you think of it, it was perfect timing that the woman wanted to give you her dishwasher...if she hadn't you wouldn't have known about the faulty wiring..and gasps..shudder to think what would have happened!

It was a wonderful act of love and kindness, pyewacket, that sent you the tree you were so longing for. I have known for awhile now that there are many caring and generous people who are members here on myLot and this just illustrates the point. You remind me of a story I read once about a little girl who was wishing so hard for a tree. In the end she also got her wish. Life can be as beautiful as it is harsh. I will be looking forward to the pics when you get it all decorated having seen your flair for decorating.

I'm certainly happy for you. We kinda wanted to get a tree for Robert's first Christmas and celebrate - for him but its actually good money is tight, we realized, because he tends to like to knock or pull things over - and he's strong. We could've had serious injuries, Plus he could eat the pine needles and choke. However, our neighbors/landlady's family live right next door on the property and they have like three trees and they've baby proofed their house because they want him to visit often. And she really went all out this Christmas, which is good as we don't even have a wreath. So Robert gets his Christmas through them and we get to stretch our money to pay for a little bit of food and a LOT of gas. Plus tomorrow, we're invited over to her mom's house for a tree trimming party! Oh and plus - what about trying to eat the sugar water the tree is in? We'll have christmas just belated. And this way we won't have to cook anything fancy so we're saved that! Although our neighbors/landlords invited us over for the 22nd to celebrate our one month anniversary - our anniversary here! We told family that their presents will come in January. We'll prolly give my brother's family and the two in-law sibling families and our moms small gift cards or amazon certificates (that's what my sister usually gives my mom and I). I know kind of boring, but this way we can hit the only family with one gift. And I asked Daniel for a tarot card deck and rune set for our belated Christmas and maybe a very belated ring (we ran away to Las Vegas years and years ago). I kinda don't want to get a ring because I love the pointed stares I get from people towards my ring finger when I mention my husband. A ring doesn't guarantee fidelity and lack of one doesn't mean lack of it. I think they think we live together (which I would have no problem with). Its just funny, if I or the narrow minded random person I'm speaking with mention my husband 1,2,5, 10 times - each time they look at my finger. So I'm tempted not to. We are also going to get a video camera in January for a family Christmas gift to ourselves - to record Robert's first - he already took five steps so, although I hat to do it, I asked Daniel if we could just rent one for like seven dollars for a week from rent-a - center but he wants to wait! I'm going to steal his cell phone and give him mine so I can record it if it happens! Wow, ramble! Back to you, I think its like karma - you do good for so many people - plus you put it out there both to mylot and the universe that you wanted this and it came back just as asked. Thoughts become things - choose the good ones!

Oh--I saw your other posts under other responders and answered your questions there. LOL Like children one has to be careful with pets with trees too, but thankfully my kitties are very well behaved. They do like to sleep under the tree, but over the years I've never caught them trying to chew pine needles or worse, the light wires. I never decorate the tree with any kind of tinsel..don't care for it, as my impression it makes the tree look rather chintzy..LOL Your neighbor/landlady's family has three trees? Wow. But that's nothing. I heard this story about a woman who has 42! All artificial of course. How rude that people will look at your ring finger when you mention your husband, for as you say wearing a wedding ring doesn't guarantee fidelity. People can be odd. Love that saying. Thoughts Become Things. --courtesy of Mike Dooley, right? One of my favorite lines. Yes, I guess since I had the Christmas tree on my mind so much I attracted it to me..and in a most special way too! :)

Thank you - thank you, I was trying to remember his name! I have my for my lot email open so I couldn't access my other one! I love his notes from the universe! Yes, I figure, he can enjoy the trees over there and next year, when he can understand us even better, we'll get a tree. We have one in storage but we can't get into until next month. And again, maybe I'm a paranoid mommy but the thought of him knocking it over.

OK I'm going to be honest right now. There have been several times I was "helped". I didn't open myself up on mylot at the beginning, with my troubles and opinion, but after a while I started to post discussions and open up a little bit. A few of those who helped me are clearly mylotters, I knew them from their emails to me in and outside mylot. But the majority are unknown to me, who they are, how they know etc It's true that my husband knew some of problems, personal or business, but he couldn't have helped me in those ways. And there are things I never tell him, but I post the discussions here so long story short, I knew it wasn't him. This is the first time I spoke about this. I feel that either my discussions or responses are being read. If it's true, then I want to thank them for their acts of kindness and generosity. I hope they have a great holidays and wish the best for years to come. oh and I wish the same for you too, pye :):)

Isn't it funny how people like the ones here, who while they are our friends, we haven't met in person, yet are more willing to help than even our closest friends in our "real" life or of family...sometimes I think family can be the worse to try and get help from, right?

Hello Again Dear Pye! I just want to share with you what happened this week end as it highly pertains to your discussion here and I must say that I too have received a Christmas Miracle this year.... On Friday our car stopped in the middle of the street at an intersection and would not restart...It turns out it was the timing belt and a seized up water pump which cost $600 Today when my husband got the mail there was $500 in an envelope with simply Merry Christmas and we have no idea who our elf is but we have one this year as you do and it is a huge blessing...especially at this time of year! :) ~Heavens~

Hi Pye!..I'm so, so very happy for you!!!..What wonderful people there are in the world and to have such great friends just warms my heart. I saw this discussion yesterday morning but didn't have time to respond as I was running late for work and ususally my responses are never short, haha. So this morning came back to let you know I also believe in faeries, lol!...oh yes, I do. And remember when I told you our lives seem to be running parallel to one another?....get this, my daughter and future son-in-law came over around 7:30 last night and brought me a wonderful surprise.....a small (about 3') Scotch pine wrapped in pretty red foil which I have on my table right now. It's the kind you can plant outside, still in the pot and I just love it completely!.....I just couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her carrying this little wonder trudging through the snow to the front door. I can't wait to decorate it, haha! Those little faeries sure do their work, don't they? I was really pulling and wishing you to get your tree because I know how important it was for you....I think it might be a feeling no one else might know about except a cherished few. It's such a great feeling to know you have your precious little tree to make your Christmas complete now....happy face!, and Thank You Faeries wherever you are!

And I see you had your own little faeries at work to get you your tree as well. Since it's in a pot, it should keep fresh all year long then, right? Have any place to plant it later?? I'll probably put the tree in a larger pot and keep it around the patio until I move...I have another one that everyone said wouldn't live in a pot, but that was six years ago and it's thriving just fine. That one was only a foot high when I bought it, now it's about 4' too, along with my little new one......amazing how these little tree's can make you feel.

What a story! I have to say though, I knew you were going to get a tree... I could feel your intention across the airwaves! And I know the unlikely methods the Law of Attraction can use to accommodate a desire, but I'm very happy to hear that it was a MyLotter behind it! And I can see why they did... you are a good friend Pyewacket, obviously I'm not the only one who feels that way! Ever since I read your story I have been wracking my brain trying to recall a similar incident where I had my faith restored. I know there have been a few but I couldn't remember even one! I had decided that I was just going to have to respond to your post without being able to share a story of my own. Then today I went out to check my mail, expecting nothing but more bills. There was an orange envelope in there addressed to simply 'Avalon'. And in the envelope was an unsigned christmas card with 50 bucks in it! Which meant I was able to go up to the corner store and pay off my tab that was getting so high I was wondering how I was ever going to be able to pay it. I suspect the postmistress, but I doubt that she will ever confess! I'm glad you got your tree!!

Wow...wonderful news and a wonderful sharing...thanks so much for that! Good to know you will have your tree and that your Law of Attraction manifesting powers are working!!!! Yes, I have had many times where goodness has prevailed in my life when it didn't appear that it possibly could. A couple of years ago David and I were driving a friend back to Winnipeg after a Christmas visit. It was cold and dark and we stopped for gas at a small country town. David had over a thousand dollars in cash from a client. He was supposed to pick up a computer for him in Winnipeg. He paid for the gas and about a half hour later he wondered where his wallet was...and it and the money were not in his pocket. We drove back to the gas station and the young man was happy to return David's wallet with the cash. We were rather astounded because he was a young student and could probably have used the money...but he did the honorable thing and returned it. There have been many other times where channels have opened up to meet me at my point of need and so yes, I absolutely believe in fairies, angels and benevolent spirits in this plane and those in other realms. Wishing you bright, beautiful holiday greetings and a new year filled with more faerie encounters and all the good things you so deserve. Raia

Wonderful to know there are honest people in the world, is it not? I mean, a thousand certainly is a lot of money. One hears of so many negative things in general, so to hear something positive like that puts faith back into one's soul And have the brightest of blessings this Christmas time too! :)

I'm so happy for you! That's really sweet and great. Awww... that's what I love most about this season, the miracles that people make for one another in the spirit of love.

Wouldn't it be nice if the Christmas spirit was all year round though? You should read Transdisc's response though..really great there

It would be awsome. I know I can really be a major B sometimes so having the spirit of Christmas and that feeling of love and respect all year long would help me be such a better person.

First off, Pye, I am not one of the elves.. I regret that I have been jobless since Thanksgiving Day, when the lady I was carng for passed on. So although I prayed for a tree for you, I was unable to help. However, I found another permanent fulltime job and am gonna be ok.. today receeved my first pay and was able to do some shoppng of my own. Lucky for us we live on property (for now) filled with pines, so nephew and went out and got a tree the old-fashioned way lol.. I am delighted that you have your love trees, truly what Chrstmas is all about. And yes, elves and angels walk among us. Your queston reminds me of a dear friend who, one year when I was between jobs and just out of hospital, gave me a brthday gift I will never forget. For some odd reason it had decided to be a very late sprng and when my bd arrived on April 2 it had snowed 4" and still falling. I was home with no heat, freezng my little tushy off. Lo and behold the gas delivery man drove up. I rushed out to stop hm, knowing I did not need another bill I could not pay. He assured me that the gas had been paid for and said, "Phil says happy birthday and get well soon." I almost wept with joy as $60 worth of lp gas was pumped into my tank. Mind you, I also heated water and cooked with gas so the gift was multifaceted. And yes, dear Pyewacket, there IS a Santa Claus, and elves and fairies and angels too. They appear when tmes are darkest holdng that little candle to lead us out of our dark times. May Gods and Goddesses bless all the elves who brought Pye her trees. May your heart-gifts return to you tenfold. Merry Chrstmas Pye, my friend. You keep a sprig of those trees so when you get to feelng that no one loves you, you can look at them and know that is not so.

I'm sorry to hear you had been out of work for such a long stretch, but happy to hear you now have something new lined up. What a wonderful story you have of your own there, and yes, we may not think we do, but angels, faeries or elves are often working for us. I have a rather strange tradition I've done every since I can remember. Each year when I get the tree, I do keep a branch or so, and even keep some of the pine needles..I keep them until the next Christmas then throw the old remembrance of the tree out..this year will be different...I plan to keep one branch always as a reminder of how little MyLot elves helped me to enjoy my Christmas this year. :)
