| | I got a Yamaha acoustic F310, it's pretty good. When it comes to where I live, which is Bahrain, then I guess Washburns and Yamahas, are pretty popular, because those are the ones commonly found here. There aren't a lot of music shops here, and the ones that are here, carry those two brands mostly, there are other brands too, but I guess they are ridiculously expensive ones, he he. | | | | | | |

| | Hey! I'm not much of a guitarist, I just play to accompany my singing. So I have just a cheap yamaha guitar. However, My boyfriend has a fancy guitar worth about $8,000.00 because he is really serious, I can't remember the name off the top of my head but he plays it excelently! | | | | | | |

| | Well Epiphone is really a good guitar for the price you pay for them! I've played many Epiphone guitars! The other ones that are popular and inexpensive are Ibanez, and the Squiers! Of course if you ever have an opportunity to buy the expensive ones, they are; Martin, Fender, Gibson,Yamaha, and several others that are popular! | | | | | | |

| | I don't think one should base the quality of a guitar on the price or just the name. A lot of "named" guitars are made very poorly these days. I was in a store a couple of months back and I picked up a Fender Stat, prices at just under $1000. It played like utter poo. I kept thinking that I would cut my fingers on the sharp frets! I walked into the acoustic section and picked up an electric acoustic made by Carlo Robelli(who I had never heard of), it played so well that I was able to do things on the guitar I cannot usually do. I plugged it into an amp and it sounded outstanding. It's price was $109. I shouldn't have bought that guitar that day, but, I chose not to. My point is that one needs to go and play as many guitars as you can until you find the one that sounds and plays the best for you, once you find it, don't let go of it until you get home! Too identical guitars do not always play or sound the same. | | | | | | |

| | I toatally agree that no two guitars sound or play the same. I think the best way to determine what sort of guitar to buy is to go and play them first hand and decide on what is best for you. My pride and joy howver is a Fender Fat Strat with a rosewood fret and a sunburst body. I feel in love with the looks of this guitar, and when I picked it up and played it I knew it was the one for me. I love the "fast fretboard" and the sound with the humbucker in my opinion is outstanding! | | | |

| | The best quality guitars that I have heard of and my friend has been kind enough to allow me to try are Gibson guitars. One reason why I know that they are of good quality is the fact that the Les Paul Standard or many other Les Paul variations will appreciate in value over the years. As the wood ages, the tonal quality rises, I believe. The only downside is the price for most Gibson products is an arm and a leg. Another bad thing someone has found out is if an older Gibson is bought then it may come out of tune because of the old tuning pegs. Nevertheless, Gibson is a highly acclaimed guitar company that everyone should consider at one point in their guitar playing career. | | | | | | |
