Christmas cards |
|
I'm a great fan of The Net, but I do miss the countless Christmas cards that adorned the mantelpiece in our home when I was young. Do you miss waiting for the postie/mailman to come in the weeks before Christmas Day? I do. I guess only older people would remember what an important part the cards were when decorating. I'd like to hear how others feel about the change E-cards has brought.

1. dreamy1 (1705) | 9 months ago | No I don't miss it. My mother would hand the cards all on the back of the front door. It wasn't really a big deal to me so I was never waiting anxiously for the mail man to deliver cards. I haven't sent paper cards in years. In fact today I just send Xmas e-cards to friends and family. Took about five minutes no postage and no more licking nasty tasting stamps. Oh yeah they don't make those any more either.

mipen2006 (1204) | 9 months ago | In Australia in the fifties the cards were donated to The Salvation Army, who I think passed them onto orphanages where children used them. Merry ChristmaS.
