Liberals are too FUNNY ! Or PATHETIC ? |
| |
| At the link is commentary by a liberal journalist who maintains that global warming and rising oceans are going to inudate low lying Red States where conservatives live within the life time of his cats. According to this commentator this will force conservatives to higher ground politically controlled by liberals where the conservatives should be allowed to live but be gerrymanded into political impotence while being taunted with, "We warned you this would happen!". http://www.baltimorechron... This scenario will not happen for 2 reasons. 1) The oceans will not rise more than 2 inches in the next 100 years. 2) Conservatives own guns, liberals don't. When push comes to shove, liberals will not be telling anyone what to do. They can ask their political icon Mao to verify the guiding principal concerning this. Here it is, "Power comes from the barrel of a gun." (Mao Tse Tung) Anyway, here are my questions. Is the author truely serious in that he believes what he is saying? (Pathetic) Or: Is the author merely jerking the chain of conservatives in order to have a good laugh like Ann Coulter does to liberals? (Too funny) | | | | | |

| | The author is serious, yet his scenario is slightly in error. The seas will take another twenty years to rise markedly. | | | | | | |

| | LOL... Good one! For those who do not get the joke. http://epw.senate.gov/pub... What follows is taken from the above link. "Scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore." Literally hundreds of scientists are now coming forward to debunk man made global warming. The science is very obvious when really looked into. Honest and competant scientists simply do not want to be grouped with the anthropocentric global warming charlatans. | | | |

| | Hmmm. I was hoping that based on the way the article was written, to see "Sincerely, Dave Barry" or something. Reading through the credits however, made me think that this guy could be serious - which is scary. Though I'm not near San Diego, I hear many sailors are. If what he says is true, only the sailors in the subs will survive. And the idea of sharing higher ground with conservatives is just unacceptable! Why should I want to share ANY space with people who walk around all day saying "The grate state of Nev uh duh!" and "Drug addicts should go to jail! Got any oxycotton on ya?"? Red, I sure hope this guy aint serious. We've got to stop this global hot air! | | | | | | |

| | Yes, if the author is serious he is exhibiting an extreme lack of skill in evaluating science information and in the projecting or extrapolating of complex human behaviors. For some one as highly educated and intelligent as this guy is, if he is serious, it reflects very badly on our educational system. | | | |

| | Actually, I think there have been more liberals pretending to be conservatives in power than conservatives lately. | | | |

| | I promise you that the liberal wet dream of being in charge after a major disastor is completely not going to happen. People with guns are not serfs. That's why right after Katrina the police were confiscating guns for a short time until public outcry stopped it. Guns are good just like any other tool is a good thing. | | | |

| | I guess conservatives only have a sense of humor if it's Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh or others like them making cruel jokes at the expense of those they call "evil" liberals but if someone turns the tables they take it seriously as a way to trsh the writer. I sure hope you're right the oceans won't rise more than 2 inches in the next 100 years, but I'm not willing to bet the house on it. Both sides like to play their games with the number of scientists that agree with them; I've said this many times, I prefer to err on the side of caution. I have to add, I've noticed for quite awhle now that most of the disasters in the U.S. have happened in "Red States"; maybe God isn't the Republican you thought he was...lol! Annie | | | | | | |

| | Annie, As someone who is quite conservative, I can appreciate the humor at the link, if it is humor. However, if the man is serious, it is truely pathetic. Mathematically adept people with skill in data analysis and the ability to evaluate scientific studies who have looked at both sides of the issue are now appalled at the idea of man made global warming. It is completely an invalid notion, a lie. Check out this link. Read it. Follow some of the links at this link. The arguements made there are valid. Think about them. Man made global warming is a complete fraud. Real scientists are distancing themselves from it. http://epw.senate.gov/pub... Please, note this link is to an official US government web site, not some no account fly by night blogger. | | | |

| | Most disasters happen in the Red States? Really? Well considering most states ARE red state, maybe that statement has merit. But it seems that California gets more than it's fair share of natural disasters and we know how blue it is. Oh, and WA State, where I live, is a blue state and since I've lived here we've had earthquakes, floods and wildfires galore. In fact, I've experienced more "disasters" here than anywhere else I've lived. | | | |

| | I didn't say "ALL" disasters happen in red states but they have had their share. This was also meant to be a joke. I read the other thread about global warming. I know there are many opinions on both sides of this issue but I prefer to err on the side of caution. Some people's dislike of Al Gore will make them feel justified to ignore the fact that he has raised awareness of a very important issue. In my opinion there are conservatives and liberals who are both funny and/or pathetic. Neither side has a monopoly on either! Annie | | | |
