Tell me about your dream vehicle...could be anything!!!! |
| |
| This topic came to mind because a gal/pal friend of mine just bought herself a new car. She has always wanted a Toyota Corolla and now she has it. It has a lot of extra features and she is thrilled with the command start (especially now as we are in the deep freeze of a Manitoba winter), CD player, plush leather seats and a lot of other whistles and bells and I am happy that she is so happy. She is thrilled with her spiffy black car with tan leather interior and sun roof and she is a hard-working generous gal and it is great to see one that one of her dreams has come true. That led me to wondering what type of vehicle would be a dream vehicle for you? It could be a vehicle that you drive for fun, pleasure or sport. Is it a big fancy 4 x 4 truck, Jeep or even a Hummer? Or do you lean more towards a 'green machine' and would love to have a hybrid or electric car? Or maybe your dream machine is a souped up Harley Davidson motorcycle...a private plane, Lamborghini, Corvette or other sports car? How about a a family van to transport family and friend safely? Is it an off-road vehicle or quad? You name it...and I'd love to hear what it is if you'd care to tell me. Happy dreaming and we all have to have a dream before they will ever come true...so why not dream big and maybe your passions will happen one day!!!! Hope so! Raia | | | | | |

| | Wow that sounds like one really kewl car! Missing the chance by just two months is somewhat of a bummer alright. But you know peantutjar David and I live with a belief that has proven itself to be true time and time again there are always reasons why things don't come to us when we wish they would. When that happens I state with full intent...I will have something that is equal to...or greater than what I missed this time around. Almost unfailingly it has worked out that way. So I will join with you in happy, happy thoughts that you will have equal to...or greater than your spiffy Dodge Nitro in hot red with chrome in the front of the hood and a strip of it on the sides. I see you now...gliding along on your dream car...with REALLY happy, happy thoughts and feelings. Good input..thanks my friend. Raia | | | |

| | I really don't have a dream of a new car, as I just got one a few months ago, or anything else that money can buy. I am lucky enough to have had all my dreams fulfilled. My only dream is is only living to enjoy a ripe, healthy old age. My reason for responding was because it is so refreshing to see some-one who is happy and rejoices in a friends dream coming true than to see and hear the usual envy that people display on such occasions. You appear to be a true friend a rare being. | | | | | | |

| | Ahhhh...when I read what you wrote in your inimitable, authentic way I was...and am truly touched. Thank you so much for taking the time to mirror that to me from your perspective. I never even thought about that when I posted it...because it is truly the way I feel. This friend and I have been there for each other through thick and thin for twenty years...and have absolutely no secrets. She knows everything about my painful past, insecurities, fears...and of course my joys. I see her as family even though we do not share the same family of origin. Because I also know all of the above about her and how hard she has fought for every shred of happiness it is wonderful to celebrate in the manifestation of a dream. When she talks about how good it is to use her command start on cold January mornings and then gets into a warm car the image give me pleasure. When she describes a sense of exhilaration as she puts her foot on the gas...ah yes whiteheather it truly makes my my heart sing for her. It also pleasures me to hear you say that you have your life where you want it to be with your dreams fulfilled. I recall our chats months ago where you shared what you went through to reach this place in life...and it is good to know that after the brief glimpses of your past that your shared with me you are in such a different place now. Good to hear about positive outcomes when the events prior to it were so daunting to overcome. May the joy and inner peace you now have continue as you do hopefully live to a ripe, healthy, old age. Thank you again for your honoring feedback. Raia | | | |

| | Oh Raia, I am really illqualified to respond to this discussion because I cannot really identify subtle differences between cars.I like to respond to your discussions because you are very encouraging in your comments and that is the only reason I am responding to this. For one, I do not know to drive, have never owned a car myself. However, in my father's house, apparently my grandfather had a Morrisminor and after a minor accident my father never drove. Later he bought an ambassador car for the household , but when I was in college I always depended on Public Transport[Incidentally I am very proud of the Transport system in Tamil Nadu where buses are maintained in such wonderful condition, are very frequent and well connected, and you get every comfort without dipping into your own capital.-Probably this is one reason for my not being particular about cars; secondly, now even in Mumbai where I have to go out a lot for buying necessities, I walk the distance, and if need be take an autorickshaw. [our country is a tropical country and Mumbai particularly is not terribly cold even during winters.I can appreciate it when other people are happy about their new acquisitions and your reaction to your friend's is very much similar to mine. However I do have a dream that one day my son should travel to his office in a Mercedes Benz Eclass[all hearsay].As far as my dream vehicle goes it would be none other than my legs till I breathe my last-I write this , not to bring a morbid spoilsport twist but particularly in remembrance of my father who was paralysed on one side for 18 years and still managed to limp and be self contained. If I have to mention a four wheeler, then I should say that anything is fine with me, because I pointed out earlier I can't differentiate nuances. But, I would appreciate good legspace, cushions ,an AC and a music system[where I can keep hearing all my favourite songs.] | | | | | | |

| | Hello again Kala...I am always pleased whenever I see your name and Avatar among my responses. It is also good to know that you enjoy my comments and feedback..they genuine and I sense you know that with the wonderful sense of 'intuitive knowing' that I sense in you. That is just one of the many reasons that I think you are qualified to comment on any discussion. You bring a unique brand of observation and insight to things that I respect and rely on. Also dear friend each response or e-mail that we share heightens my awareness of you, your lifestyle, views, beliefs, values and that is how Cyber pen-pals deepen, broaden and expand our understanding of each other. This is true with what you have offered in this discussion. Learning more about your father and your abiding respect for him plus how he lived with such dignity and grace is wonderful to read. There is also a cultural perspective to your comments too. I had no idea that Mumbai had such a reliable, comforable transport system. Too bad that more larger centers in North America are not inclined to take a leaf from your country's books and implement something similar. So many people drive around in massive 4x4 gas guzzlers and they are the same ones who refuse to downsize so North American can reduce their dependency on Middle Eastern oil. Don't get me started on that one Kala...that is a whole other topic...or two. I loved your final comments about the real 'dream' being to have strong legs until you take your last step. Oh yes...that I can wholeheartedly agree with after having to rehabilitate my knees from overdoing it with gardening, hiking and really active living. Now that they are stronger and stabler I intent to keep them that way for as long as possible. Hopefully your dream for your son and his Mercedes Benz and if you do purchase a care may it be all you'd like it to be as you cruise along listening to favorite songs...ah yes it is a great feeling! Thanks for another meaningful addition and for being the great pen-pal you are. Raia | | | |

| | Hello dear perspective friend. Right now I do not have a car of my own, but later if I have got enough, my wife and I have already planned to get one of ours for doing business. We would like to get one and have it as a taxicab to help make more money by renting it other drivers. As to the brand of the car, it depends on what car is used as a taxicab in the same city. But this dream of ours will take many years before we can have it come true. Thanks for your discussion, dear friend, Raia. | | | | | | |

I sincerely hope that you will be able to turn it into a reality when the time is right to do so. As I said...we have to have a dream before there is any hope of making it come true. So dream on...and may the good you send out to others come back to you as well. Warm regards my friend, Raia

| | Wow Lakota...once again you impress me as you share more about who you are and what you love. I love what you have done...and plan to do with your car...soooooooo VERY KEWL! Now here is another parallel in who we are and what we think. I also wanted to put PURPLE on the hood of my car...only mine was going to be a big purple butterfly. I wanted to put purple stripes or flames along the side too. The image of the two of us gliding along the highway with our purple accents really makes me smile! Oh to only live closer...we sure would give reason for people to turn their heads as we laugh out loud in Thelma and Louise comradely style. Quite an image...don't you agree? Anyway, good hearing about you and your dream car...you go girl! Luv ya...sent an e-mail and am looking forward to our chat! Raia | | | |

| | I know what you mean about them sending us 'signs' that they are around and will probably never be too far from where we are until we are re-united in whatever way that is. When we came home from Winnipeg the day after she left I didn't know Davide had already put Cherokee in the house. The light wasn't on in his office...where Tasha always lay at the bottom of the spiral staircase leading up to my office. I heard toes tapping and thought..."Oh my goodness...Tasha is coming to greet me...and then I caught myself and realized it was Cherokee...but yes, the signs of their presence are there for those willing to open their hearts and minds to the energetic connections our loved ones keep from their side to ours...just as your beloved "D" did while you were in the hospital. I like to think that with growing number of people who are light workers around the planet and sharing their spiritual/energetic and metaphysical views in more open forums that the seeming barriers between the worlds will become easier to access. Let us hope so anyway... Always good sharing ides with you my soul sister....we will keep in touch because I always speak so fondly of you to Carole...so she knows about my good buddy from down South and that loving and being around one friend does not mean you do not keep in touch with the others...there is lots of love in our circles for everyone to be embraced by it...and isn't that good to know!!!! | | I loved reading your list of dream vehicles...this is just what I hoped for when I said...could be anything! Wow...I love to see people who have big dreams and goals...there is a way bigger chance for them to manifest them. In my view it takes just as much energy to create little dreams as big ones. I'd rather aim high and miss than have lower goals and make them. So thanks for showing me you can dream big and I wish for as many of them to come true for you as possible. Cheers and thanks my friend for all your support on my discussions. I will keep in touch on yours as well as I started to yesterday. Raia | | | |

| | Hello dear one...good to be back in touch I think of you often and wish we could meet in person and chat our faces off for hours. Oh well (sigh) we are doing well with this way of sharing for now...but are you game for what Lakota and I have done? That is to make a unified intention that when the time is right a way will open for us to meet in person? Maybe the three of us should join in on that intent...sitting down together in a physical sharing circle...oh that would be wonderful! Anyway reading your addition to this discussion...and seeing the photos you included is really something. When I added...'your dream vehicle...can be anything' I would never have thought of something like the Romany Caravan because I've never seen or heard of one before. When you describe your 'dream' experiences with it...the Shire Horse and roaming the open roads with a special someone..or maybe even soul sister friends...ahhh...as I said while commenting on the photos...this is so you DAH-LING Darkwing. Great addition as always...thanks so much for letting me know more about you and learning something new as well. Love you...and love Mylot! Raia | | | |

Did you never watch Wind In The Willows, when Toad used to travel around in one? lol. In the UK, there are several locations where you can take a Romany Gypsy Caravan holiday. This link will take you to one such site, which is in Ireland... it explains about the caravans too, if you're interested. http://horsedrawn.mayonet.com/MayoCaravan.htm

| | Hello again...and I so appreciate you coming back and giving me these links to check out. You have given me some new ideas of things to add to my 'What I want to do before leaving this plane list.' I have heard of gypsy caravans before and knew there were a few around in the 'old country' as my relatives referred to their homeland...but not to this extent. I called David up and said that having a caravan experience in Ireland..his family's origin and he says he is open to it too. Maybe we can combine that and a visit to see you all at the same time. The slide presentation of the 'caravans I have known' and the music with it is very captivating and I appreciate having the chance to see it and learn more about something that is important to you. Friends do that for each other...so thank you my precious soul sister. Raia | | | |

| | You're quite welcome, my friend. I fear though, that I'm quite a way from Ireland, right down in the central southern part of England. lol. I'm toying with taking one of the holidays this year, but it will be in England... maybe Hampshire or Dorset. I will have to see what's available. Suffolk too, is tempting. We'll see. It's just my cup of tea. Ownership and finding actual places to stop is a little more difficult here. The laws don't permit parking in public places, but maybe there's a legal way around it. I don't know. I need a windfall first, unless my friend manages to built a van for me, as promised. I don't know whether that will ever materialise. lol. Is horse stealing against the law? ha ha ha ha ha. Just joking! Brightest Blessings, my friend. One day, maybe! | | | |

But I like your house on wheels aloy better they are so colorful and the round one reminds my of the house my grandpa built it was shaped in a half round barrel type I will have to see if I can find a pic I thought I had one but cant find it grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

| | Yes, the round topped ones are a little like the old "Wagon Train" wagons of the Wild West, huh? The trouble with the round-topped ones is that they are less secure, as they're only covered in tarpaulin. I think I'd feel much safer in the other style, and there's more room inside them too. Maybe we could hit the road together, if this ever comes about? Brightest Blessings, love and hugs. xxx | | | |
