Roger Clemens say it isn't so. |
| |
| There are not too many people that I admire in baseball... the ones that stay with teams for their whole careers... Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn in my time. But another person that I always was able to relate to in a way was Roger Clemens much like Nolan Ryan. I can't believe he has intentionally taken steroids and if he did I can't even think of what the consequences would be... what is your take on this story? | | | | | |

| | If you have read any of the news he had a phone conversation that asked Clemens numerous time what he wanted him to do, and stating that he would go to jail for him, and that he didn't want to go to jail but he would, and all Clemens would say was that he wanted the truth to be told, the news was on CNN and Mylot, and I'm sure Yahoo, but it could be easily found. Maybe he is innocent, but it makes me wonder if the trainer slipped him some steroids unknowingly to him in what he thought were vitamin shots. It does make one wonder. Mooch | | | | | | |

| | Yeah I've read that... it makes me wonder about Clemens... I had an aquaintence of mine sit down with him to do a signing of some baseballs at Clemens' house... said you couldn't have met a nicer guy. They were sitting there he signing balls while they were watching "Sportcenter"... We'll have to wait and see how this all plays out. | | | |

| | I agree with you... it just really peeves me when I hear people like Marion Jones denying she ever took any drugs and then a couple years later coming out all crying and asking for forgiveness... ok I forgive you for taking the drugs... I'm not going to forgive you for lying. If Clemens DID do something wrong (or something that was legal then and not now) then he should come clean with it. I think that would make him more of a man for doing that than denying it and then finding out the latter at a later time. But as you say... let all things play out and see what happens... I agree. | | | |

| | I agree with you as well. This was a discussion we had in my office yesterday. This is a very forgiving society. If he did do it, I think he gains more by coming out and admitting than trying to fight this and going to court for it. People will still love him. Andy Pettitte admitted and I'm a die hard Yankee fan. I don't feel any different toward Pettitte and he is one of my favorite players. If does end up that Clemens lied, I will have no respect for that man and he deserves every self-imposed hell he will go through then. | | | |

| | If Clemens did something wrong, he needs to state what it was and that's it. I'm not going to declare him guilty. It's like now if you're an athlete, you are judged as an automatic steroid user. I'm right now just waiting because I couldn't tell you if he did steroids or not. If there's proof that comes out whether it be Clemens admitting it himself or there's documents that can prove that he took them on certain date, then I will comment on that. Until then, I will say he's innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around. | | | | | | |

| | Completely understandable... but when your name comes out in a report naming some big-name people that have already been caught doing 'roids, that is more than just an accusation from some fan or fanatic out there. I agree... wait and see... I just think the punishment should be more harsh if indeed he IS guilty and has said that he is not for all this time than if he would just come clean to begin with in the first place. | | | |

| | I agree. If he's found guilty, he should be punished for that. I just hope we get this resolved soon enough because quite honestly, that's gonna plague the season without a shadow of a doubt. I understand it's not a fan but I just want some evidence like steroids going to his house or dates he's injected them for example. It's more of a he-said, she-said type deal though it's a he-said, he-said type deal. | | | |
