Why would you want to mistreat a poor creature that already is forced to live an unnatural life in a cage.
Why is the bird misbehaving? Is it because you have not trained it properly? Have you not taught it the proper commands?
Instead of treating the bird badly, simply tell it what it has done wrong and cover it with its night cover for a few minutes. Do this everytime it misbehaves and it will soon learn what behavior is incorrect without any harm.

What type of Parrot is she? How old is she? Is she laying eggs? Did you change her food? Have you been keeping her cage covered 10to 12 hours a night? All of these could affect her behavior. If she is getting old enough to lay eggs, she could be haveing hormone changes. If you are not keeping her cage covered long enough, then she will think it is Spring and time to lay eggs. You can fool a female into not ever laying eggs by always making her day even. Some Parrots bite when they reach maturity. Some Parrots bite when they are getting the wrong food or not enough food.

awww that's so sweet .. that mean your bird is your little bodyguard ..lol
i love that .. my Macao is like that he think he protect me from every thing .. even the tooth brush ..lol
he attack every thing comes near to me that's kinda cute but in the same time scary .. when i hold him i have to be careful of the surroundings .. that's why i think that the African gray is more easeier to deal with.. what do you think?
I'm interested to know , what type is your parrot?
