I was in the states for 3 months and now I got back, I got this huge time gap between my real time and my brain time*laughs*. When the night time hits the states, I started yawning. I turned out sleeping for a couple of hours (my nap time) but I tried not letting myself sleep for too long fearing that I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight*sighs*. So, now I am sitting in front of the computer and have this very tired look on my face (looks like I am about to fall asleep in front of my computer any minute).

How do you deal with jet lag? Anything special?

sorry I never suffered from jetlag but there are some pills which give a certain relief from insomnia, temporary stress.

I think that it helps to get used to local time as soon as possible as you reach your destination. Like leaving the UK at 12 noon and arriving at 3pm in the USA is confusing to the mind. I felt like it was 2am but it was only 3pm. I tried to stay up as long as I could and get used to being in lovely Los Angeles. I went to bed at 8pm but woke up at 4am. Now I know how to avoid jet lag. I sleep before a flight and get as much rest as I can, then I fly and go to bed at a normal local time. I drink plenty of water whilst I am on the plane. Happy traveling.

*laughs* Definitely my mind is being confused! Now it's 2am my time I should be sleeping but since I got used to the USA time, I couldn't make myself to sleep even I lie in bed for a couple hours. Figured I would get on here and do something useful instead of forcing myself to sleep.

i've never traveled on plane for very long hours. i think the longest air travel i did was about an hour so there's not much of a jet lag.^__^;; but there is the tiredness and i just let it pass by watching tv and movies at home or just lying in bed while listening to music. i have experienced a 12hr travel but by sea and that i can compare with jet lag. i remember i couldn't sleep too when i got home because i got too much sleep while traveling. and i did the same thing, watched tv and movies, listen to music while resting, and oh.. eat and eat and eat. LOL

Eating is good! But I can't eat too much now since I have gained a few pounds and I don't want to get any fatter*laughs*, it would be a waste if I couldn't pull my pants up!

oh my, i sure hope that this finds you rested up from your long vacation that you had. i have done some research on jet lag and i hope that you enjoy the article.

Good sleep hygiene promotes rapid recovery from jet lag: in fact sleep, relaxation, moderate exercise, and sensible diet seem to be the simplest recovery methods.
