|  I was just wondering, what age did you move your children from cribs to toddler beds and/or regular beds. I dont think we are ready yet, but I was just wondering how I have until I need to budget in big boy bed for the little man.

| |  Congrats on having an adventurous child!
My neighbor loaned me bedrails for my kids but they run anywhere from $35-80. I also got a standard twin bed for the boys when they moved from the crib to bed because kids quickly outgrow those smaller beds. A friend of mine didn't have bedrails so she used pillows on the floor and it worked well. My sister used a beanbag chair. Just about anything will do as long as it cushions his fall, should he roll out of bed.

| |  We also went pretty much straight from the crib (or in the case of my boys a playpen) onto a twin mattress. With my middle son we moved his crib mattress on the floor for a while, as it seemed to help him. With him, he was 18 months old, and he would have still slept in the playpen, but his brother was born and needed it more :)
My youngest moved straight from the playpen to a double bed with his brother, but he was slower developing physically and was over 2 before he outgrew the playpen.

| |  Hello my here in India the kids are usually given a separate bed at the age of about two or a little more. Ofcourse there is no hard and fast rule. It also depends upon the traditions in the family.
