What is/are your favorite Martial Arts move/s? | | It can be one you do. It can be one you've seen done. It can be a combination of moves that you liked.
One that I used to be able to do was a glide. I like any moves I see done with legs like kicks, sweeps, or lunges. So what do you like?

| | | | | | 1. raijin (6727) | 2 years ago | I like the art of Jackie Chan's moves, he creates it purely of his own and he prefer to use whatever he sees on the background. I can easily punch, kick and throw a person but I always like to try new things (if ever possible).=)
Taekwondo was one of my favorites during my teens, but they mostly rely on feet.

Glad you studied a Martial art, too. So you mostly like upper body workouts and you did a mostly feet style. Maybe you will try another style someday.
Take care and thank you for your response.

raijin (6727) | 2 years ago | There's also those Arnis (two bamboo sticks), this type of martial arts is famous in our country. I believe Bruce Lee also used this, then trained a Filipino to bring that skill here to take in a new level.

writersedge (4532) | 2 years ago | I've been very curious about Arnis. Seems like an interesting and useful skill. I can always find 2 sticks in my woods to defend myself with. Take care and thanks for interesting discussion.

writersedge (4532) | 2 years ago | What's the difference between a sliding side kick and a regular side kick? Is that like what my style calls a side thrust kick?
I do a Lotus kick that is a circle kick, but it's more vertical, I think. You have some interesting moves you've indicated here.
Love the kicks. Thanks

| | 4. alamode (1891) | 2 years ago | Anything Jet Li does... I can watch him for hours! It all looks so effortless, even though there is so much work and training behind it. I especially like when they 'fly'... I know its done with wires, but it must be hard to make those moves while seeming so natural doing it! He's just amazing.
| |
| |
|
|
writersedge (4532) | 2 years ago | Yes, Jet Li does some terrific stuff. At the end of one of his DVDs, they showed the training for one set of moves. You'd have to be pretty advanced to get it even with the training.
Thanks for your response and take care.

Zhanec (1038) | 2 years ago | haha..yea..flying is way too cool..But sometimes it look too fake if its not well-edited

writersedge (4532) | 2 years ago | Yup, I've actually seen some wires before!

alamode (1891) | 2 years ago | I watch 'Films of Fury' on the weekends... some are so cheesy that I laugh all the way through them, but some are breathtaking! I love them all!

writersedge (4532) | 2 years ago | Jet Li has a real range of movies. I watche so many Martial Arts things I should start a discussion about that.

| | 5. Zhanec (1038) | 2 years ago | Jackie chan's move!! The way he used tools from surrounding is really smart!!But i really like Tekwando too.I like to see fast high kick and spinning kick 360 degree in a movie.I wish i know how to do that.I'm too old to learn all this stuff..haha
| |
| |
|
|
writersedge (4532) | 2 years ago | I loved the huge vases that he would fight, right one, fight, right another one, fight, etc. Also during the Western Scenes when he's using wagon wheels and such.
I used to do a fast high jump kick, but since my accident, won't happen. Spinning and 360 won't happen either as I have to turn very strangely to keep my torn disc from tearing further. Ah what I used to be able to do. Ah what I will never do. But I'm still better than people who never tried. Take care and thank you for your response.

writersedge (4532) | 2 years ago | Can you describe them so we can understand them better? Like what are these styles known for? What do you like about the style when you see it?
Thank you very much for your response. I've never heard of these styles, exactly, ones with names similar, but not exactly.
