Is that Edwards is going to drop from the Democratic Presidential Race. I posted in the news section that I feel he should hold out until Super Tuesday when over 20 states make their decision. I think right now it's not about winning for him personally but about getting his voice heard and his influence felt. He has some ideas that need to be said. He can go into the convention with a bargaining chip that can be used to help set the platform, and influence who is selected for VP and President for the actual election. I am actually a republican, but follow the libertarian platform more then any. I am also a student of politics and have seen how a third candidate can add a lot of influence into mix. I can see in the Republican side that Ron Paul although having little chance of winning the nomination will have some influence on the decision. He has been getting a regular 10% of every vote. The winners have been getting 30%, but it's been a different guy each time, and the 2nd place person has been different each time too. His 10% is 10% influence into the convention. That 10% could be the swing vote to get a platform stance passed, or a person nominated for president or Vice President. As Ron Paul was from the Libertarian Party previously, he knows that sometimes it is getting the word out so that people start thinking. The informed public is one of the best defenses against being run over by politically motivated people. Mr Edwards, stay in the race and keep Hillary and Baraq honset, and keep your views active in the process. http://RonPaul2008.html

I guess if he doesn't want (or can't afford) to spend any more money fighting an unwinnable campaign then dropping out is a sensible decision. We all know the Democratic nomination is a two-horse race, and with the hostility between the two front-runners he has a very good chance of getting the VP nomination anyway.

I don't know much about US politics but I do watch a lot of CNN to I catch talk about the race every now and then. Tonight after supper CNN showed Mayor Giuliani dropping out of the presidential race and then endorsing John McCain. There is word that Schwarzenegger is also going to endorse Mr. McCain. I don't know a whole lot about Edwards...I have heard a few things of Clinton and Baraq. I'm not sure if Baraq has the experience to lead a country. I do enjoy Hilary Clinton but she seems to stumble over her words at times...

I was disappointed and surprised to hear he was dropping out before Tuesday but I heard one of his campaign staffers said he hated the idea of being the "spoiler" if he stayed in. I agree that the things he's been talking about are things that needed to be brought to the fore-front and I don't think he's going to disappear from view for one minute, he's going to make sure his issues aren't overlooked. I wasn't very happy to see Edwards was dropping out. I think he's a good man, but I think for his own personal reasons it's probably best for him right now. He's young though so hopefully we'll see him in the running again in a few years!
