Ok i want some ideas for my wedding ideas for my wedding, cheap, celtic, i was thinking white summer dress (hard to find so far) or a green celtic looking dress (found one really cheap one but it just wasnt exactly the style I wanted) I told my Maid of Honor springy looking dress b4 i changed my mind to celtic and she already got a dress which is pictured below. Her daughter is going to be the flower girl and her dress is almost like her moms only blue and layered at the bottom. My sister the bridesmaid hasnt got a dress yet. My Maid of Honor told me she can take the dresses back if I dont like them and I told her no they were fine, but know i dont know if they would match into a celtic wedding. The person Marrying us (my fiances cousin) is going to be dressed as Merlin, I havent figured out what the guys will dress as yet. Maybe robes. I'm not sure (LOL the guys would love dressing in robes, well my fiance wouldnt mind but the others might have a problem with it) I havent decided on much of anything else (havent looked yet) sept for subway as the cater (real cheap) and just regualr drinks BYOB if you want alchole. The other main colors are lavander and thats what i would perfer the flowers ubt I cant have much and need cheap. its going to be outside, little over or under 50 people. Do yall have any ideas? thanks

i would go to the thrift store and look through all the dresses until you find one that kind of just stands out to you. then you can bring it home & do whatever alterations to it that would make it more personal for you. I would go with a white dress since the bridesmaid dress is purple.

are you having a handfasting as part of the ceremony? a binding of the hands. that would go really nicely with the celtic theme.

Craft stores and ebay are your friends. Check them regularly and check them often. Making things yourself and getting things second hand will save you a huge chunk. As far as attire, I think the first thing you need to do is decide if you are wanting costumes or not. In my opinion, either everybody should be over the top, or no one should be. To me, if you have a Merlin officiant and the men in robes, then you and the girls in summer dresses, it would look mis-matched and ill-thought through. I really don't mean any offense, that's just how I feel about it. As far as Celtic themes, those can be a bit harder. It depends on what types of accessories you're going to be having. Are you having a flowergirl basket, a ringbearer pillow, guests programs, a guestbook. These can be done in ivory and sage with Celtic charms for decoration like knots, crosses or tricetras. You could do the same for jewelry for you and your Maids. Also, on wedding invitations, if you're handmaking them, you can get stamps of the symbols for embellishment, or if you're buying they do have Celtic style invitations.

I was only going to have inventations Im not sure yet on a pillow but yes there will be a flower girl basket. I'm not even sure if we are having a ring bearer b/c we might be doing a handfasting. i was first going to do a spring wedding thats why my bridesmaids dress looks like that. the robe part just popped in my head im not sure im going to do that but yes it would be best if we wore robes too. thanks for your responce great ideas.

Look up the ebay user HolyClothing. All of their clothes are celtic in design. They even make a wedding dress and their clothes are really reasonable in price. I bet you could outfit your whole party from that designer. The flower girls dress and maid of honors dress won't go well with your theme though so I would ask her to please take them back if you end up going with a dress you find on holyclothings ebay site.

Hehe, hummm I am Irish and very Gaelic. Celtic is a cross of many things so please remember that. Often the men do dress in robes, I saw your post earlier. Find someone who can do your music, if you like download a lot of celtic music for the wedding and reception. Have your friends bring instead of a gift, perhaps food for the reception. Also do your own announcements. You can find kits at card stores and places like Staples. Have a friend video tape the whole thing for you. That is a lovely wedding gift to receive. You can also make your own bouquets and place settings for people to take home. Get the Jordan almonds and wrap them in netting all this stuff you can find at a local craft store. Remember to include family in your bachelorette party and have them help you to make the party gifts if you like. Make a day out of it. Have a note pad with the listing of food you might like for your day. I can help you with your party upon catering that might actually be cheaper than subway. I am a Chef so I know some secrets. Also go to the local beauty salon school for your hair and nails. Not only will it be done right but for less expense. Depending upon your cake you would like, try peti fours. They are easier and individual serving sizes. Good luck, Ainge

If you can find the vest with celtic knots in it that would be great but yes that does sound good. I am looking forward to seeing your dress actually. Can anyone sew that you know? You can find good patterns this way. Ainge
