Arthritis and medication  | |  I find that in most discussions about arthritis, people are looking for remedies to help relieve the pain. Why?
By relieving the pain, we are not preventing further damage to our joints or repairing the damage that is already done. If we can repair the damage and prevent further damage, surely the pain will go away.
I am 36 years old and have had rheumatoid arthritis for nearly four years. I have spent too much time and money looking for something to relieve the pain. My new years resolution is to find something to repair my joints and prevent future damage. I have started by ordering my doctor to give me something that will serve these purposes. I can do this because I pay him and therefore he works for me.
My advise to you all that have this dreaded disease is do the same, find the cure, not the pain killer.

have you tried anything such as shark cartlidge, that sort of thing? i hear that helps!
my knees are horrible, so much so i am going to see a surgeon tomorrow about knee replacements!

With our doctors here in Italy, if we are unemployed we don't pay which is a good thing I suppose, but if we pay, they work for us which is also a good thing. Do you pay some sort of medical aid or anything similar? because if you do, that money goes towards paying the doctors, and in that sense, they still work for you.
I don't believe we should have to deal with replacing parts of our body, we are not vehicles, there must be a better way. | |

| | | 2. deebomb (7010) | 8 months ago |  I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for will over 20 years and there isn't mush that will cure it. Though they have come out with some things that will slow or prevent the crippling from the disease. The only repair of the joints is through surgery. When the cartilage is gone it is gone. It won't come back. You have to take something to reduce the swelling. When the swelling is gone then so is the pain and you can regain freedom of movement in undamaged joints.
Diet can have an effect on the disease too. some Dr believe that arthritis is caused by food allergies. and that the allergies cause the body to attack itself. These Dr suggest staying away from food that are high in starch and gluten.
