 Hello, friends! If there was a disaster and you have not returned home or there is no possibility of your reaching home for some days and your cell phone did not work how would you contact your family?.......?

1.  maximax8 (3426) | 6 months ago |  I would visit an Internet cafe and send my sister an email. Alternatively I would use a public telephone box to phone my mum. I went to New Zealand and bought a mobile phone to use whilst I was over there. I am not sure how well my current mobile phone works overseas. My last mobile phone worked when I was in Mexico. Considering I am from the UK this amazed me. Then a months later when I was back at home it broke and I lost all my text messages that I had got from my friends. Worst of all I lost all my list of contacts. So it pays to keep a spare copy of your contacts in a note book in case your mobile phone breaks.

| 2. palonghorn (2098) | 6 months ago |  If it was a disaster, and pay phones still worked, I would call out on one of those, but a lot of disasters affect phone lines, electricity, etc. However, if that was the case, I would locate the emergency personnel and get word out that way. And my family has always figured, no news is good news.

I'd contact the disaster coordinator and ask for help if all the communications (phone, internet,radio etc.) are down. They should be able to relay messages to our family and making them know that we are safe. Cheers!
