When it comes to motivating people, how good are you at it?

not vary good at motivating people. all i could do was set an example and live by it. my children who were raised by their mother had different ideas then me and these ideas were passed onto my children.
i helped my family to a point where they should be helping themselves to work and pay their own way in life..my daughter is 37 and my son is 36 and i had to tell them that after they were married with children they were the ones who were to pull their own weight. I told them i was not an ATM machine and that I had a new wife and family and I could not keep subsidizine their lifestyle..
my ex wife has been married 6 times and alo divorced the same amount of times but she has always been a freeloader to her own family and taught her kids to always expect something for nothing.
so my only motivation for them was what i call "tough love" but the wife i got now is so much different. she has always worked during our 22 years marriage and now we have retirement and plan on moving in two years to a warm climate..but it did not come on a silver plater..we worked for this..my wife motivated me..and made me a better person..i had to learn the hard way about the freeloaders and parasites in life that just want to drain you and not contribute..thanks for your post

Yep, no problem!
Anyways, sounds like a pretty rough situation, glad to see you made it out alive!
They're in their 30's and were still piggybacking off of you for money? Geesh! You should have told them a lot sooner!
I'm aiming to be completely independent by the time I hit between the age of 21 and 23.
Still got a lot of work ahead of me! *siiigh*
However! I have a few years yet as i'm only going to be turning 20 soon.

It depends upon the situation. I can't say that I'm a good motivator or not. There are times that I can motivate others and there are also times when all I can say is "Everything's gonna be all right" or "Just pray" and others.

I am not very good at motivating people. they do not want to listen to what I have to say. They have to make up their mind as to what they want to do and when they want to do it. I cannot push them to do things unless they are willing, ready and able.
