Why don't Mythbusters -

They did, In the magazine Popular Mechanics. They compared a regular gas powered racing go-kart to a modified electric go-kart on the track. The results were surprisingly close to each other. Also on the discovery channel they have some sort of Green challenge show where they take a performance vehicle ran by gasoline and compare it with electric prototypes. So far I have seen drag strip motor cycles and snow mobiles compared.

you know i had wondered for a while why with things as bad as they are for fuel why have our governments not been trying to change the types of cars we are using, i've seen electric cars, air powered cars, gas cars and even a type of fuel that is made from sunflowers but yet when you hear about them it's like a one wonder thing and then they fall back under all the paper work, i then realised why nothing is done about them and why they are not used or even pushed and it's all to do with MONEY!

If air powered cars were out on the street people would never need to buy fuel again which would loose the oil companies billions instantly and so loosing the governments billions so instead they will just keep pushing prices up for fuel because they know we will pay for it.

Then of course you have all this bulldust about wanting to save the environment but of course they want us to do our bit but the major thing they could do they won't because it would cost them money hypocrites at their best.

I can honestly say i will never trust another politician they have done nothing but lied and lied and lied about anything and everything the only time they are not lieing is when they mouths are shut.

You can make better milage for your car and easy change into electric only need to get a mapway and some simple modifications and boom you got electric car, only bad thing it is way slow! We are fast people and gas people, so it prob be around when things are really really bad worldwide.

The Mythbusters sometimes respond to viewer request; why don't you write them? Also, Mythbusters is an urban legend show mostly. This is kind of out of their realm.

They DID do a mythbusters on this stuff.. None of the alternate systems were deemed to be worth the effort.

One thing I'd like to point-out though, in reference to "green" car technology.. If you have a battery that you plug-in and charge, you are primarily using electricity from either a Coal-driven reactor, or a Nuclear Power plant.

Congratulations, you've changed your polution to another location.

One system that looks impressive though is the Hydrogen cell system. I'm working on a version of it that's much stronger than the system they showed on Mythbusters. I can get 30lbs of gas pressure, instantly and constantly.. rather than the crappy two/three bubbles every 3 seconds that they busted on the show.

My only problem at this point is the amount of water the system goes through.

They showed that hydrogen, just run directly to the carbuerator from a tank, would run the car, but they didn't have a regulator system on it, and it backfired.. (which was funny as hell).
