What kinds of odd jobs have you had to help you make money?

So far, I've had tutoring and weeding gardens work out. I've listed many other things like dog walking, but most people walk their own dogs here or get a neighbor to bring their dog, too. I just read that personal cook works in some areas. I'm trying to make a list of as many jobs as I'm willing to do to go into the newspaper. What has worked for you? What are your ideas?

I have helped with landscaping and moving and cleaning and made anywhere from 50.00 a month to 20.00 a day.. Dog sitting can be good, that is what my daughter does and at 20.00+ a day, she has made 75.00 in just a few days before..

Sounds wonderful! Those #s are about what I need to make to make ends meet. I moved here and am an unknown comodity, so getting work is hard. People don't trust just anyone with their dog. Plus lots of people just will take the neighbor's dog for a week if that neighbor will take theirs when they leave. Lots of in-kind trades up here. But people did trust me with their weeds and not to pull real plants, so that's a start. Maybe after people get to know me better. Thanks. Take care

Perhaps. Most people go to the only city we have, so all people go toward the middle which is Plattsburgh. I'm farther north, unless they have relatives up and farther out than them. . . .I can check around and see. Thanks

I tried at one point to do clothing alterations, but people thought they could stop by anytime they wanted... uh, no! My best money-maker was sewing the custom wedding dresses... it was a blast! On fitting days, all these girls running around with no modesty... Hun ducking into the shop and hiding... it was like a pre-wedding party! I know my work was much better than store-bought... and they didn't have to wait 6 months to find out they had the wrong size! It was immediate, fun and very satisfying, and these brides got to save a TON of money!

Wow! Sounds like you made lots of money and people were happy with the results. Wish I had the eye to hand coordination and sewing skills for that, it sounds like you had fun doing that. Take care and thanks.
